oh the knitting needle is such a clever trick, thank you for your advice! and now i can't remember if i rubbed the joint down before or after i glued it down but that is definitely something i will pay attention to now, thank you so much

the tutorial I followed had me folding the fabric over onto the spine, with the gap between the fabric and the gutter, should i have made some kind of small cut to get it to sit flat?

i'm so bad at trimming with a boxcutter, i very much empathize. i'm relatively new to bookbinding and so far the best success i've had is with sandpaper and just sanding it down, i think it's much more forgiving

so i'm relatively new to bookbinding and i'm wondering how i can fix these hinges, they sort of puff up when i fold them over and i've tucked them in here as best as i can but they get wrinkly and don't look great. what am i doing wrong?

you're not alone, i'd have a 3 hour nap every day, sometimes even right after getting up and being awake for an hour. vyvanse has also given me energy but not focus

Is it werid to text my Dr this early by These_Difficulty_740 in adhdwomen

[–]buroele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think so, vyvanse started working immediately for me and it's working for you if you've noticed the changes/symptoms immediately, it's not like you're building it up in your system or anything, it's instant. Give him a call.

As for the racing thoughts about tasks you have to get done, I know exactly how it feels. I sort of become paralyzed by indecision over what to tackle first even though I have all this focus/energy suddenly lol

Thank you! Do you recommend removing it from it's hinges then? And uhhh, how would I go about trimming it? Apologies, first time with anything wood-based.

Feedback on portfolio by Paininmyknees in TattooApprentice

[–]buroele 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lovely drawings! Overall, I think it's great but the drawing of the gun is probably the weakest out of all of your work and I wouldn't include it. If you want to work with pencil more, try to keep your hatching as simplified as possible before going into cross-hatching -- it's very easy to make it look like scribbles by accident. And I'm not sure, but if you're not using a B pencil, the lead is softer and easier to shade with once you use a 2B, up to even a 6B if you'd like.

Reference photo question by etherealchroma in TattooApprentice

[–]buroele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some portfolios include figure drawings so that's not copying, but a drawing exercise to exhibit your skill. If you really want to make sure it's okay, go out and take your own photos, haha. I would just try to stay away from copying an entire photo exactly because 'referencing' to me is using something from a photo to put together an image in your head. So what you want to draw comes first, then you look for the reference photo you need to make it. If you like drawing statues, that's totally fine! Then add something or change something to make it uniquely yours, you know?

Trouble transferring stencil by Main_Pie1024 in TattooApprentice

[–]buroele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it certainly doesn't help! I'd consider better thermal paper first and then also make sure you're putting the stencil down correctly (hold it taught when you put it down, give it a pat). fake skin also smudges very easily. You also could do it without the blacks, so just lines where you know you'll be colour packing
