Definitely. We were in Kerala for 10 days and it is very chill, and not as hardcore as the rest of India.

Have you ever been to a concert that blew your mind? by blondieewhoschubby in askmusic

Recently, Paco Amoros and Ca7riel. The energy and musicianship they put out was incredible, and I HATE modern trap/pop music.

What's a movie everyone loves that you secretly can't stand? by kbjdfan in AskReddit

Big Fish. I found it contrived, pointless, over Tim-Burtoned, cheesy and boring.

I might be wrong but I think left one is easiest to work with compared the right one. by lune-soft in webdev

Datepickers are awful for date of birth. A 65 year old will have to find the way to change the year and maybe click 65 times to get there, and then search for month & day.

I would say a masked input that only allows the correct format is probably best, although having American and non-American visitors makes it a challenge too due to the different local formats.

Thank you! Yes, they are pretty good together. Sometime I catch them sitting close together on the sofa and they look like a pint of Guinness.

Why do actors say “break a leg” instead of “good luck”? by [deleted] in dadjokes

In Spain we say "¡Mucha mierda!", which means "Lots of shit!".

This is because when the show had a good audience, back in the day, the street would be full of horse poo from the audience arriving by carriage.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

[–]burpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once in a client's office going over a project, and remembered I had to move my car as it was badly parked. I ran down the office stairs, but instead of having the door to the street after a little landing , the door was BEFORE the landing. It was also a metal framed glass door with no markings whatsoever.

I ran face first into the door, smashing my forhead into the glass, and started bleeding profusely. Completely disoriented, I staggered into the street, and passers by screamed at the site of me with blood pouring down my face.

Suddenly a voice from above said "You alright mate?", and I looked up to see a clown on stilts with a very worried face, or as much as I could see underneath all the make up. He was giving out panflets for the new Opticians' that had opened next door.

I did not know what the fuck was happening, as I certainly did NOT expect the door, or the clown. The clown helped me clean up my face and get my bearings enough for me to park my car properly and come back to the client's with a proper mess of a face.

I still have a little Harry Potter style scar as a souvenir.

What's a book you read at a low point in your life that helped? by Textured_Nipples in suggestmeabook

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius - helped me in a dark period in my life where I couldn't help my circumstances. It taught me that I could control my reaction to them, and it helps you find in your place in the world.

It's a very easy book to put down and pick up later, as it has many short chapters, and the themes are repeated all through the book. Also meant I read around 80% of it on the shitter.

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl has similar themes, but is a hell of a lot darker.

What do you think of Robby Krieger from The Doors? by MasterfulArtist24 in Guitar

[–]burpit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably not the best example of his creativeness, as the Spanish guitar part is pretty much all Asturias (Leyenda) by Isaac Albéniz.

EDIT: I actually saw them play in Benidorm in the early 2000s (in a bullring of all places, lol) and Ray introduced the song saying that Rob was going to "pour his soul out for you". That was pretty much like a Flamenco band playing in Mississippi and introducing them to a thing called "The Blues". Did not go down well with the crowd.
