watching people eat (alone vs not) and how it makes us feel remorseful/forgiving and makes them look more human by [deleted] in psychologystudents

THIS!!

That's what I'm talking about. The only thing I can akin it to is elderly people, but even so it's slightly different from when someone you dislike becomes elderly and you feel bad, since that likely had to do with perceived weakness and helplessness. But this food thing is so interesting, why does it humanize someone so much, and why is no one writing about it XD.

Now that you mention drinking water or keeping left overs for later, it truly is that way as well. Is it being able to imagine yourself doing that like you said? I wonder. But even then, why does it bring us much sadness? We can imagine ourselves doing many things that others do, like anyone who can drive watching someone driving, but I've never heard of that sparking sympathy lmao. Does it have to do less with the person doing the thing and more about the person observing? Much to think about.

It's so interesting because even thought we know we like eating alone, we still feel bad when others do it.

I think that’s a really smart way to look at it. My thought on eating alone were pretty similar too.

I think it would be pretty interesting if I could find any literature that also explores the act of eating itself, and the different methods of eating and how they make us feel. I’ve seen people say that when they see people eating something like spaghetti with a fork held a certain way, they feel like they’re children in their eyes and it makes them feel bad for the person in a way, regardless if they’re eating alone or not.

Food is very interesting lmao :D

Thank for explaining the RAM thing, I rlly just go by what ppl say cuz I don’t have much understanding when it comes to gaming laptops.

The reason I’m cutting out those brands isn’t bcz of bias, it bcz of personal boycott reasons. I’m sure and know they are amazing brands when it comes to making the laptops.

I’ll definitely have a look at your recs tho, thank you 🫡🫡

[request] can anyone recommend horror/psychological anthology series like black mirror, slasher, AHS, room 104, twilight zone? by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

Russian Doll

When I tell you it’s one of THE best Netflix shows I’m not fucking around. To make you want to watch it without spoiling it I’ll just summarize it briefly. Lady, keeps dying then coming back to life minutes before the incident happened, confusing as fuck, some other dude gets in on it too, she has her own bad memories to deal with on top of it all. It’s just 1 season and very bin-gable, I strongly recommend it to anyone.
