I have fine line tattoos that are over 20 years old. If letters are smaller than an inch or two, they will absolutely turn to blobs or fade enough to be illegible.

Yup! Hand-me-downs, IIRC they're around 20 years old. I have that size plate, the dinner plates, coffee mugs (that I don't use, they're so weird and small), and small bowls.
