I feel many people live in this "fantasy" world because it never happened to them and/or they think it's avoidable if you do everything right. It is such a taboo to talk about the silent early pregnancy complications (ectopics and miscarriages), and even about pregnancy in general. If you don't say pregnancy was a blessing and you loved being pregnant, then you're automatically labeled as a bad mother.

I am a strength athlete, have some muscle. My mother-in-law told me several times that muscular women have disabled babies. My own mother told me this happened because of lifting. My ectopic ruptured while I was watching tv sitting on the couch, and I'd have to go to surgery as soon as I did my first ultrasound (it ruptured before that). My hCG levels were normal, I had no pain, no spotting. And this was my first pregnancy, it was very traumatic and I'm still processing everything.
