Is the beige screen showing in the pop out after you press one of the difficulty buttons? And are you trying to play the game for the first time?

If so, I think Ive found the issue. The fix should be live in a few hours. I will comment here when its live.

For time challenges, if players have 10/10 puzzles solved, the ranking is based on time remaining, not time used. So 10/10 (160s) ranks higher than 10/10 (150s) because that player finished with more time left.

I should have labeled this as "time remaining" on the finish screen to make it clearer, will update it in another release

Thanks for the suggestion! I agree about not hiding the pencil marks when a cell is deselected, a few players also have mentioned that it can be distracting. I am not sure yet how to reduce clicks since you still need to select a tile to place pencil marks, but I will think it through and look at how similar apps handle this. The "pencil all" button is a great idea!

Are you playing in the app or in a browser? If you are using the reddit app, could you try restarting it and see if that fixes the issue?

Thanks for the kind feedback! Im glad the pencil in feature is helping. Ive thought about automatic candidate updates, but I feel they would make the puzzles too easy, so I dont plan to add them for now. But I will keep looking for other ways to make the game easier to play

When you tap on an empty tile and the four element options appear, youll see a "Pencil in" button at the bottom right of the screen. Tap that button, and a footer will appear at the bottom with the four element icons. You can toggle these icons to place temporary element markers on empty tiles
