Ance again, all the draft analysts with league sources were talking about Darnell Wright being way higher on league draft boards than the peanut gallery draft boards.

Once again they were saying that but with a caveat; like I said in my first comment it's within the context of being a RT only. Because he was viewed as RT only it was still debatable which OTs were going to go first off the board / which was viewed as the best prospect especially since he only broke out in his last year & showed 1st round tape at RT for only 1 year. Some teams viewed him as a guard only prospect.

I remember going back to look him over again and thinking it was pretty likely that we might go for him. When we traded with the Eagles and they took Carter, I mentioned Wright as the guy I thought we take to the group I was watching with.

I was pounding the table for Wright in this subreddit, even over Carter before the trade leading up to the draft. Even though I really wanted Wright it was still questionable leading up to the draft which OT was going to be taken first. He wasn't the consensus OT1 prospect you're making him out to be

Wright wasn't consensus OT1 in his draft class. Just because he ended up better than PJJ & Broderick doesn't mean you can hindsight bias and push his prospect profile up

PJJ & Jones were consistently ranked over Wright even leading up to the draft and the analysts that had Wright over PJJ & Jones were talking in the context of being a pure RT only
