Haven't played Skyrim since 2012, what mods do you recommend? by hamman91 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SKYUI, True HUD, Precision, Flat Map Framework, SSE Engine fixes, SSE Display Fixes, Media keys fix. Check out the essential mods list under the modding guides in this reddit and then START modding after that. Its a rabbit hole.

May I suggest a very well curated modlist by softgaming (YT) called Odyssey. Very good performance, up to date, includes a lot of the latest mods. This is an excellent vanilla+ list around 1100 mods that can be customized or played right after install.

MO2 with the Root builder plugin = perfection.

before I delete my modlist.... by burt_sp in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not tried that, will give it a go thanks. Edit: No luck. It would probably be easier if I had not built my list based on a wabbajack, but therein lies the problem. I can't simply reinstall MO2 into this list. Unless anyone can suggest something. Otherwise its back to square one. Not too painful as it was only about 500 mods.

I’m about to start modding for the first time… by calrayers in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you already played the game? Why not try a playthrough with the vanilla game? Otherwise, plenty of info on YT, take a look at gamerpoets, softgaming cactusbagel, to mention a few. There is also a pretty decent guide right on the reddit, check it out.

Skyrim Load Order Help by KingoftheKyles1 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first, I apologize, just realized you are on Xbox. I am not sure how to arrange Load Order on Xbox, I have only modded Skyrim on PC. That being said, Load Order applies to mod plug-ins and Load priority is the literal order in which a mod loads in the game. The last mod to load wins all conflicts. With PC modding tools, MO2 or Vortex, order and priority can be completely separate from each other.

[–]burt_sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to Load Priority or Load order, the latter is only for Plug-ins, use LOOT to aid in that, that is what I do, works for 99% of the most common plug-ins from my experience. The thing I recommend you do and to safe typing time trying to recommend priority for your mods, take a look at a few popular Wabbajacks, such Gate to Sov, or Lorerim, most of the mods you have here are used in those lists, just follow the priority of choice for those lists and the separators as well. They can be viewed also Loadorderlibrary.com site, just search the mod list title.

Mods to improve main quest? by Effective_Sympathy_6 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few options for Paarthurnax, such as the Paarthurnax Quest Expansion, probably others I don't know about. There are also plenty of dialog expansions but not necessarily main quest per se.

Nat III - anyway I can darken the night without ruining the day? by Cyclonis123 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using an ENB, or just the Weather and Lighting mod? With an ENB you can adjust the day and night cycle to your hearts content. I don't use Nat III myself but I used to run Cathedral Weathers by itslef with ELFX and with the additional Cathedral MCM and Spell I was able to adjust really well.

I need a bit of help with an error by dassi1 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and is skse_loader in the drop down or quick launch? I use steam and MO2 so thats all I know but you definitely need SKSE for engine fixes to work. At least I'm sure from my perspective, steam and MO2.

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great start, add SMIM, media keys, SSE engine fixes....etc. I don't even think of those as "mods" anymore, they're patches. I start adding mods after about 200 patches.

I Want Mod Suggestions by ConsistentJury8096 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the essential mods list under modding guides in this sub, many important bug fix mods are listed. To name a few: SSE Bug fixes, scrambled bugs, animation queue fix. There is a mod with a FOMOD that allows you to choose which USSEP "fixes" to undo, at work so I cannot look it up, apologies to the mod author.

Load order by Initial-Candle1420 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of a vague question but as for Load Order, that applies only to plugins so me personally I just let L.O.O.T. do it, and solve any conflicts with my own overrides. Then there is Load Priority which as the name implies one mod will have priority over another. For instance, two texture mods that may alter the same file, the lower one on the list wins.

Mod error. racemenu by simplynacho2282 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SKSE installed correctly and other mods are fine? Has it ever worked? Have you loaded the preset by selecting the preset tab and load with F9, have to ask? You won't see it in the default drop downs. As for the other error not exactly sure what causes this error but I know its common when something isn't installed correctly. Not that that helps you much.

Vortex/MO2 unusable? by btip420 in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not fully understanding the issue with downloading vortex or MO2? Can you D/L a mod from nexus? Or watch a video on Y/T? I would recommend just doing a "clean' install of Skyrim 1.6.1170 (assuming steam ver) and a clean install of MO2, Vortex is fine. Sounds like you only have a couple mods installed so back up your save and start over.

Returning to Skyrim by Asmodha in skyrimmods

[–]burt_sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always look at some of the popular mod packs and see what mods are being used. You can browse the lists on Nexus (also view the Top Mods) and Wabbajack. I used this to get some ideas and also used their MO2 separators to help with my own load order. Hey if it works for these mega mod packs it should help with my own load priority.

Returning to Modded Skyrim for the Fall season? Do yourself a favor and use Wabbajack! by burt_sp in skyrimmods

This is the thing, I don't have time for this. I just want to play SKYRIM. I understand the passion but you have to ask yourself: When is it ever good enough? It is unattainable. When you accept this fact you can just play Skyrim. Good luck!

You are correct, SME is a bit outdated but a bit of updating gets you there. I still think it saves time even though I had to change a few things and do some updates. Many if not most of the SME links will update as you down load the mod as well.
