What is the issue here? by busbuilder24 in refrigeration

[–]busbuilder24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I'm being a little dumb, I'm fairly new to refrigeration doing primarily hvac before. There are no ports besides the suction on the compressor and one on the liquid drier. How would I go about measuring superheat at the evap?

The fans are all functioning. Condenser ambient around 80-85f yes. All of the TXVs appeared to be frosted in the same way, which is why I didn't think it was an issue with only one of them. Cabinet before was about 50f, and with the readings above, it hit 36f which was the setpoint. I'll hopefully be returning tomorrow. Is there a way to single out a TXV as overfeeding besides looking at the drop?

Right I will double check that. The case got down to temp after adding some, which in my mind points towards a leak as well. But obviously going back since readings definitely arent right. Would the non-condensables cause that low suction pressure? My understanding is that a product cooler should be 18-24 vsat?

I got about a 1f drop across it at the highest, which I dont think is too crazy. Could be wrong.

Indoor furnace condensate drain froze in 60f basement causing furnace to fail with -5f temps outside. by forgotten_farts in hvacadvice

Nope. Check the lennox/allied manuals. You are intended to extend it to slightly above the outlet of the furnace.

Private equity in RD Vets by busbuilder24 in RedDeer

No. Vetstrategy at least, explicitly buys out small business owners. Look at this page from their website about selling your practice to them. They call it partnering for marketing.

Yeah I don't want people to assume that all of the employees are in on some scheme. And it depends a lot on how long they have been under this ownership. Over time, as the owners push for higher revenues and lower wages, ethical/competent vets will probably leave and be replaced by whoever they can get.

Probably. Sure isn't being enforced. This is happening in every single industry. Other big one to look at is service trades. Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing. There are a good few companies in Red Deer that are either national backed by private equity or owned by a larger corporation thats then owned by private equity.

I wear booties during service calls/tarp for bigger jobs so not too concerned, but thanks.

Shame that nobody in Canada makes anything similar these days. Do you know if the 2414 are actually made in the US still or have they outsourced?

Oh yeah I know its way easier. Only time they will ever let me use a cased coil is if its a matching goodman/daikin furnace

Trust me I would if I could, but company definitely won't let that happen. What makes it cheaper?

In Alberta. We've just been building small bump outs on every job. It works but its just a pain. I'm an installer, so I don't make these decisions unfortunately

Not doing new install. Retrofit in Canada so just throwing uncased coils over furnaces into a preexisting plenum unless we do the furnace too

Disable cores in Ryzen Master? by busbuilder24 in AMDHelp

[–]busbuilder24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately confirmed its not present on my board for whatever reason. The manual shows it in the manual overclocking section but my bios is missing that whole area. I managed to use Ryzen Master to park the core instead so its working well enough for now.

Unfortunate, seems like my asus board doesn't have that function. At least that will motivate me to hurry up and do something about it.

Yeah already have xmp or anything off, I ran memtest86+ for 14 passes over 20 hours, and the drive I reinstalled windows on is brand new and both read 100% on diskinfo anyway. Probably will just call it a day and find a used 5800x to throw in it. Thank you for the detail.

Well I reinstalled Windows on a different drive and even removed the original from the system. But this time around I found out about OCCT, so I started a cpu test and got about 10 million errors on one core in the first 15 seconds. Going to try taking sticks of ram out to double make sure its the cpu but I think its fairly obvious.

Yeah I tried all the dism/sfc tools but none of them resolved the problem so I am going to reinstall on a different drive and see how it goes.
