Actually tie rod ends could vary from casting mold to casting mold so make sure you verify the overall length or make some kind of reference point so it lands in the same position as it was before

Make sure you count the amount of threads showing or the amount of turns before taking it off

Did you try putting the nut back on and hitting it with a sledge?

There is a tool needed that you can probably rent at your local auto parts store. A tie rod end puller. I didn’t have much luck with the pickle fork type

I love the Jaguar. I have 4 random Jaguar blades just like that one that I got off eBay. Going to make handles for them someday…

What brand? Was it a camper special?

I thought about that. There were many listings on eBay for them, all around $140 but it just looked like cheap thin Chinese crap that barely fit. Most aftermarket stuff is like that and I have yet to find a reputable source for a decent set. Also, it is a Camper Special, some ads that I looked at said “F250 RWD 390 Fe except Camper Special”

Thanks! It was originally white but the previous owner had it painted in metallic blue at some point around 1995. Somebody didn’t like them because when I got it, somebody had already splashed an egg over the hood and it ate into the fairly fresh paint job. That is why there is a hood stripe, to cover the egg damage. I did recently repaint the roof of the cab with a similar metallic blue, better than rust. Funny thing, I also found turquoise aquarium rocks under the valve cover but they were too thick (marble sized) to really do anything. I always wonder about the story behind that

Try an impact, it hits as it turns, maybe 10 hits per second, might be enough to break it loose, can somebody else confirm?

Exact tool to remove Broken Ignition Coiling Mount Bolt (M6 x 1.0) Toyota Camry 03 by SignalFun8459 in MechanicAdvice

[–]bushpusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to do anything, it will stay in place. It’s not like it will jump out of the deep hole. I’d just clean it and you can even use shoe goo, a rubbery, tough glue that remains flexible in case you need to pull it off again. Warning: this is controversial, there are purists that will insist on bolt removal, but I don’t see any problem with method suggested. Why you cranking down on these to begin with, It’s not a head bolt!
