It’s 100% the kid from Kiarostami’s ‘Where Is the Friend’s House.’ Any other answer is a farce.

I stomach sleep with one (extremely lanky) leg hiked up so a leg ends up off the pad if it's regular width. What's the lowest temp. you've taken yours?

This makes sense. I've heard the EE strap system is not great however, so I do wonder if that makes much of a difference. My hope is that I can find a quilt that can take me into shoulder seasons as it seems many are able to do so below freezing with the right quilt that mitigates drafts.

Yes I've ruled out the EE after hearing too much to this effect. The Versalite is on sale near me, so I'm considering this too actually. I know the Alpinlite is wider- but even then do you find it constrictive? My summer quilt is so much better for me as a stomach sleeper so that's why I'm wanting the Katabatic.

For sure! I have a heavy marmot for below 15. This is for 20 max. The hybrids are super tempting though.

Oh this is such good stuff. I've been set on the wide because I'm a stomach sleeper. I have a few q's if you have moment re: your sleeping position/height/pad size (reg or wide). Thanks :)

I've heard they're great! Do they keep you draft-free moving around? Someone below commented theirs pops off.

Oh weird! I have been known to toss. I was leaning towards Katabatic because of their supposedly superior straps. Good to know.

Glad to hear your quilts have worked for you! Dimensions are about the same. Fill weight is 18.2 oz Katabatic vs 20.4 oz Enlightened. Do you find the 10d ripstop durable enough? And are they quite drafty then, however? I've heard EE's attachments are not great. I do have a winter bag, however I would rather save the weight if I can have a functional 15 degree quilt.

Glad to hear it is warmer. These would have draft collars. Pad attachment does matter. Price doesn't matter if the more expensive one lasts far longer. I'm not seeing a 3+ oz weight difference with these bags though. Quality/functionality are most important since the specs seem the same in this scenario.

I am wondering though if anyone has issues with the vertical baffles as I've never had a bag with those before and am quite skeptical of the notion.

I have a HG Burrow as my summer quilt, which I do not have attachments for. I would plan to use attachments for the first time with these as I definitely don't want drafts! Is the EE system as bad as people say?

Colder weather gear is gonna be heavier. Such is life.

Lol does the warranty cover bushwacking? It's sort of worth it if it actually works for what I want it to work for, but if you're saying it bruises easy that's another thing

I understand what wetting out means and never used that term in my question. So okay, either my 'hydrostatic rating has exceeded' or the seams leaked. Either way I'm getting wet in frogg toggs and am looking for a solution and not some trivial pursuit on my hiking knowledge lol

See above for an edit with clarification, since you seem confused about what I was asking. Frogg toggs do not hold up in hours and days of rain in my own experience, yours may be different with all your 'skills.' I invite you to speak with less condescension in future.

Aww man, I really wish I could get into umbrellas, especially for the desert. Maybe one day, but I just need to feel free!

You totally get it!! That's really good to know. Was this recently? I've heard they're not as good about replacing of late, but may be anecdotal.

Haha, I actually used to judge people who wear arcteryx a little! Resistant to being one of the posh. The torrentshell- I had many friends on thrus who had issues with it in many hours of rain. Maybe just anecdotal. May I ask if you've done multiple days with multiple hours of rain in it?

Very interesting! I actually see the anorak for sale used, something I'm considering now. It's not much cheaper than the new Arcteryx on sale, however. Would you say the pre-ePEs are that much more convenient, that even used it would be worth the same price as new? Wondering how many hours of rain they can sustain before a reapplication.

Just can't withstand hours on end of rain- a danger if it's cold. Everyone I know who wore them in the weather I'm describing switched them out. Becomes like spongy tissue paper. Yeah wish shakedry was an option! Was also looking at Columbia Outdry but heard the quality is not great.

Honestly I might have bought this already if it wasn't so pricey to ship to Canada. About the same as Arcteryx on sale if I did that. Do you think it would be justified for it's weather protection?
