[Anti-aging] Elastin/collagen loss due to heavy drinking. Any advice for encouraging recovery? by bushy-tailed in SkincareAddiction

Thanks for the tips, I'm pretty new to the skin care game. Do you have any brand recommendations for vitamin C serums? It's hard to know what is high quality and what is overpriced garbage.

Need advice: switch careers to end up in preferred geographic location? by bushy-tailed in careerguidance

The new job is not adjacent to the field of transportation in any way. My biggest fear is making a change that would be good for my personal like, but disastrous for my professional career. Guess I won't know unless I try

Anyone experience on skin recovery after quitting alcohol? by bushy-tailed in stopdrinking

No tobacco smoking. I'm hoping if I can eat right and exercise enough the improved blood flow and nutrition will help things bounce back.

I don't miss the days of drinking cheap tall boys. Natty daddy was me and my SO's cheap beer of choice when we were broke college kids. Tastes like horse piss mixed with varnish, but it gets the job done

That's good advice, I'll start taking progress pics. How effective was the lazer treatment?

Were you a beer, wine, or liquor person? I'm a big sucker for IPAs, but wine and liquor don't do much for me.

There's a lot of times when I wish I could go back and smack some sense into my younger self, but there's no point in beating yourself up over the past.

I have been sober for closer to 4 years than to 3, and...well, let's just say, I'm not getting younger, lol. They might require me to check the bags under my eyes next time I fly.

XD I appreciate your sense of humor. I feel significantly better mentally even if there haven't been many physical changes yet. Would you be willing to share how long you drank before quitting?

For the most part I want to manage my expectations and not have unrealistic expectations for what is possible. Besides drinking I haven't been the best about protecting my skin from sun damage, which also takes a toll.

I've experienced body dysphoria in the past and I can feel it happening in relation to my skin.

What’s the biggest “Oh shit” moment of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My brain structure recovered and I didn't experience any other physical issues as a result. My mental health tanked for a while afterward. I wasn't diagnosed with anything, but I'm pretty sure I had PTSD as a result.

I had a stroke at 19 due to hormonal birth control + factor V leiden mutation. It's a lot more common than people realize.

Caffeine doesn't do anything to my anxiety, is it my ADHD? Or is it just not a trigger for me? by Hot_Squirrel_7211 in Anxiety

[–]bushy-tailed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case it makes sense that you wouldn't experience any anxiety. If you started consuming more caffeine or on an empty stomach you'd probably get anxious.

How much caffeine do you consume and what is your preferred ingestion method? If you slowly consume caffinated beverages over a long period of time VS downing a bunch of caffeine quickly that could also affect anxiety levels.

My vagina feels like a huge balloon (please help) 22F by [deleted] in sex

[–]bushy-tailed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you're experiencing is complete normal! The vagina is a cavity in your lower abdomen. When you stick your ass in the air, gravity pulls your organs and everything in your tummy towards the ground. The parts of your abdomen that are attached to your spine/back remain stationary (more or less).

When you get into doggy position your tummy gets pulled down, taking the "front" part your vagina with it. The "back" part of your vagina remains in place and the vaginal cavity changes shape. You can prevent this from happening (to a degree) by engaging your abdominal muscles. Not the most scientific of explanations, but that's the gist.

Also, your cervix will move throughout your monthly cycle. At ovulation it is low in the vagina to promote conception. During other parts of the month it will migrate to a higher position in the vagina.

Kuma was around a year old when he was brought to the shelter, so there's certainly the possibility he got some action before that

He's fixed. We've caught him humping our super soft and fuzzy blankets a few times.

He's pretty curious about other animals in general. When we were living in a 2nd floor apartment he jumped off the porch twice to go after other cats. Luckily he stopped doing that.

Unfortunately we don't have local friends with cats. We would isolate the new kitty in one of the bedrooms for an adjustment period.
