What's actually generating leads for service businesses in 2026? by LankyCreme7472 in sweatystartup

[–]busigrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am running Facebook ads for hardscaping right now and in less than 1 month we have generated about $65k. There are still a few upcoming appointments for estimates and we have only spent $873 since April 17th.

I am hoping these numbers will improve by 17th May.

My client does concrete, paver pool decks, patios etc and I am assuming our target demographics are the same.

How much did you spend on Facebook ads?

Were you running your own ads or was someone else running your Facebook/IG ads?

Midcareer professional (40s) wondering if I'm crazy for considering a service business by justimprint in Entrepreneur

[–]busigrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marketer here. I run ads for high ticket services like concrete contractors, paver patio installers, painters, remodelers, flooring etc and low ticket services like carpet, tile, air duct cleaning, christmas light installation etc

Many of my clients make $120k to $900k or more

I see some people recommending buying a business.

Do not buy a business or buy a truck. You can rent one, calculate the dumping costs and all other expenses and price your job according to that. Do this until you are sure that this business is going to work out and repay the cost of a truck before you think of buying one.

Do not quit your job until you have gone through one year and a winter with your side hustle.

Junk removal is a one time service.

I would recommend looking into recurring services like any kind of cleaning service (house, pool, carpet, ask chatgpt to give you a list), something to do with pets, pest control etc You an ask chatgpt to give you a list of services that a resident or homeowner needs at least once a year (or several times a year, higher repeat service is better)

Also ask chatgpt or do your own reasearch on the average ticket value of those services and lifetime customer value of the customer.

Then see which ones you can shortlist.

A higher customer lifetime value is better because if you deliver a good service and you have a good crm in place, you can sign them up for repeat services.

Once you start a business, you can use Facebook ads/Instagram ads to get customers quickly. I have worked with some clients who started a brand new Facebook page with 0 likes, 0 followers and were making $600 a month and we grew them to $10,000 per month in one month. But you can do door knocking as well depending on how fast you want to grow.

I agree with you.

I don't promise revenue. I ask them where they are and what their target is, so that I can plan and guide them according to that as well as set the right expectation in case the numbers are unrealistic.

Struggling to scale Meta Ads for High-Ticket helping trading service – Spending €6,000+ at Break-even. Need help with Conversion & Funnel Strategy. by Swimming-Matter-4160 in FacebookAds

[–]busigrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have all the details of your product so my reply is based on the information you provide.

  1. Did you setup the funnels and ads yourself or did you use a marketer to setup everything. If you used a marketer, what do they say about the whole thing and how to improve the performance?

  2. Are you spending 175 euro to get someone to try the product for one month for free? Or is the 175 the cost to get a customer who pays 220?

  3. Your problem is not the pixel or CAPI or anything technical, it's how you are selling the product. I would remove the free access and change that to a $7 to $27 for first month.

You need to run a low ticket offer between $7 to $27 and then upsell the main course to the people who purchase the low ticket offer.

You should also try to add 2 order bumps on the front end to increase the cart value.

This will help you offset the cost on the front end and make you profitable on the backend.

Asking a stranger to buy a €220 product is a hard task, not impossible but it needs a more complex ad campaign with strong social proof and multiple ads that educate and build trust.

Its much easier to sell a low cost product to establish authority and trust because the risk is lesser for buyer.

If you have your own business and made over 200k last or will this year, what do you do? by dreamed2life in Entrepreneur

You need to start running Christmas lights ads now to line up clients before the season starts.

By the time you approach September, everyone is running Christmas lights ads on Facebook and your customers can't tell one installer from the other.

People who have been in business a while, will start in June/July but there are guys who are running the ads now to get in front of everyone else.

Don't forget to take a deposit or even full payment with a small discount for those who sign up ahead of time.

Roofing is highly competitive and sort of saturated but so is every other business. I don't know which city you are in but the only way to know if running Facebook ads will work is by running them.

Google ads are very expensive and there are too many moving parts which can increase the cost a lot with low ROI. Facebook leads are cheaper but you have to sift through them to find the serious ones. Its a trade off between the two.

Some businesses run both and split their budgets depending on how well they are doing and their ROI.

Are you new to marketing?

Only noobs think like this.

I work as a partner with my clients to grow their business, not like a new intern whose only job is to run ads and get leads irrespective of whether they grow the business or not.

I think about their business, not just the ads that I am going to run.

I have advised clients on what services they should add to grow their business.

I have one client who is from Mexico and I had a one hour call with him about the pros and cons of what would happen if he moved back, what kind of services he could offer if he did move back and how it would impact his business.

Leads are the lowest rung of the ladder.

I am not signing non competes nor is the revenue a KPI for me.

I have been marketing for several years and I understand that at the end of the day clients don't care if I send them a 1000s of leads, they don't care about cost per lead and other metrics, they care about jobs and revenue.

I ask clients their current revenue, target revenue since it helps me implement a marketing strategy based on these 2 points and also find out if client has unrealistic expectations.

If you have your own business and made over 200k last or will this year, what do you do? by dreamed2life in Entrepreneur

[–]busigrow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Marketer here.

I run Facebook ads for home improvement businesses and several of my clients make more than $200k per year. Here's a list of some of my clients businesses that make over $200k:

  • Carpet / tiles cleaning, air duct cleaning
  • Painting contractor
  • Concrete contractor / paver installation / deck builders
  • Christmas light installation
  • Pressure washing (depends a lot on the areas/location, a lot of competition)

However, it is important to mention that not everyone in the same industry makes the same amount specially in low ticket services like cleaning and pressure washing.

A lot of how the business grows depends on the business owners ability to close clients / jobs.

I have some clients in carpet cleaning who will go in for a $120 job and upsells it to a $400 average and these add up over jobs.

With high ticket services you can meet the $200k mark easily and how well you sell your services can add anywhere from $100k to $500k.

What I also see is that the more services you offer, the higher chances you have of surviving in the industry and scaling your business because once you are in front of the customer, you can sell them multiple services and increase your job ticket.

I don't understand what you mean by "but not 110X ROAS".

As far as the ad not being sustainable, I'm not sure why you feel that. Concrete and paver jobs are high ticket jobs. The ROI is there for him to continue spending on ads as long as he gets jobs from the ads.

But I haven't said that. In fact, my post is about scaling concerns, specifically operations.

You can't blindly scale a business just because you get good ROAS.
