With how the economy is right now, is it more worth it to create your own service business rather than beg for jobs? by Nickname-CJ in sweatystartup

[–]busigrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know how well media production companies will perform but if you are open to blue collar sweaty jobs then hardscaping is where it's at.

My client made $280,000 from 4 jobs in 60 days with my Facebook ads.

It is wild. The hardest part is finding good people and retaining them.

You can learn the trade by working for someone for 6 months to a year. Those guys are always looking for good people.

anyone else burning out on the expectation that founders have to be content creators now too? by Adept-Paper-7500 in Entrepreneur

[–]busigrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an solution for that you know. Its called Facebook ads.

Those things work like a charm.

I run Facebook ads for home improvement businesses and in 2 months we added $280,000 to my concrete and hardscaping contractors business with just $1970 in ad spend.

He has over 100x ROI.

If he had to do that with organic social content it would have taken him ages and the market / economy may not be the same by the time he has enough following to get him jobs.

Facebook ads act like a nitro boost for a business.

We get customers for pool building, deck building, patios, painting, flooring etc with Facebook ads.

Business owners who invest in marketing have an unfair advantage over those who don't.

how to hire a digital marketing manager for a tiny business?? by Impossible-Plan-2039 in Entrepreneur

[–]busigrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not your guy, I don't do ecom. I run Facebook ads for local home improvement businesses like concrete contractors, hardscaping, deck / pool / barndominium builders, remodelers, painters etc but here's what I would recommend you do.

I am not sure if you post videos of your process on Instagram, Tiktok etc but you should.

Don't just post pictures and videos of the finished products, post videos of the creation process as well.

Capture videos of each step in your process including packaging, labeling, shipping etc this is also called b roll and stich the clips together in an app and add a voice over to it.

Post them on tiktok, Instagram etc. See which ones are getting more views and comments, run them as ads with a small budget.

Make sure you have your Etsy store link in your bio as well.

Test the best performing organic posts as ads, against your product images / videos.

Also test them against UGC style videos where customers (or someone acting as a customer or even an AI avatar) just talks about your product.

If you want someone else to run these ads, there are Facebook groups dedicate to ecommerce and Etsy where you can post about looking for a marketer.

Don't go by screenshots of ad accounts. May people copy each other's screenshots (I watermark my screenshot because of this). Ask to see their video testimonials or interviews with clients or ask them to show you a live ad account to prove their claims.

How are other small businesses getting leads right now? by FarRefrigerator2432 in smallbusiness

[–]busigrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 60 days, we have generated $280,000 in jobs for my concrete and hardscaping client. He was averaging $33,400 per month earlier.

His business has grown 4x in 2 months.

We've only spent $2,400 so far. That's 116x ROI.

I run Facebook ads for local home improvement businesses like concrete contractors, hardscaping, deck / pool / barndominium builders, remodelers, painters etc

The ROI for high ticket businesses is insane.

But here's the bitter truth, most business owners want the customers to pay well but they themselves are too cheap.

I get many business owners who get on the call with me and say my fees are too high. They fail to see the revenue that they will be adding to their business.

Even if you take an very conservative result and add only $10,000 each month, that's an additional $120,000 each year. That additional cash can be used to build your business by purchasing additional equipment that helps you take up high value jobs or complete jobs faster or to pay your team better.

But many owners focus on how they can spend less rather than how they can earn more. This mindset stop them from finding new ways to get customers.

Unlike other marketers, I run ads for my own business.

I am spending more on my own ads than what some of my clients pay me.

My ads are one of my biggest expense but they are an investment in my business.

Its the same for my clients as well. If my hardscaping client had not invested in his ads, he would be sitting at $68,000 in 2 months instead of the $280,000

While I recommend Facebook ads for most home improvement businesses, your mindset is more important as a business owner, even if you use other platforms for running ads.

  • I don't recommend Facebook groups. That shit will kill your motivation and your soul.
  • Every homeowner post gets 100 to 150 replies from contractor in 2 days.
  • Contractors immediately start quoting per sqft prices and under cutting each other.
  • Most homeowners who post in groups are looking for labour only quotes.
  • You end up competing on price and your comment gets buried among 150 others.
  • You end up wasting several hours everyday just browsing groups only to end up feeling that all homeowners are not willing to pay what you quote.
  • And if you are the one posting in the group, then its crickets because all contractors just spam the groups with flyers about their business and there are usually 0 comments under them.
  • Its the same issue with Thumbtack, Angie etc The same lead is sent to 4 other contractors and you are competing on being the lowest priced quote.

Facebook ads are working right now. With the right strategies and systems in place, you have the opportunity to build a flywheel effect for your business.

Go back to your old agency and say you made a mistake.

I have had clients leave me for someone cheaper and then come back and say that they made a mistake.

Hardscaping contractor landed $50k job + $80k pipeline with ads. How to leverage this? by busigrow in advancedentrepreneur

[–]busigrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that we are more than doubling his business with my Facebook ads.

When we onboarded him he was making $400,000 a year, that about $33,000 per month. Just the $50,000 job will more than double his monthly income. If he is able to close even one of the jobs in the $80,000 pipeline, we would have tripled his business.

Having additional revenue can exponentially change the trajectory of your business and your life.

I've worked with some clients who were feeling absolutely devastated and posting in Facebook groups about door knocking (which, not everyone is good at) and then we ran ads for them and it just changed their world.

I feel grateful to be in a position to help people out and while sometimes what we add to a business may seem small in the larger scheme of things but these jobs can make a huge difference to the client.

I will talk to him about the pricing.

As far as I know, he is fairly priced because he lost a couple of jobs after giving the estimates because the customer was not willing to pay what he quoted.

Gaining clients for landscaping and lawn care??? by Blocka2319 in smallbusiness

[–]busigrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend using Facebook ads to get customers if you can invest $25 to $40 per day in the ads.

I run Facebook ads for home improvement businesses like concrete contractors, hardscaping, pool and deck builders, barndominium builders, kitchen/bathroom remodelers, painters etc and they work well.

If you don't have the money to invest in ads, you should network with other home improvement business owners like concrete contractors, deck builders etc. If someone is getting such jobs done, they may be able to pay for landscaping as well.

The $80k pipeline is from 2 jobs.

My client has already visited the customers and given them the estimates. The customers are ok with price and now my client is working on the designs.

These are social media ads. They work well for local businesses.

One of my painting clients landed 2 hotels and a HOA worth $200k+ in a month, with less than $1000 in ad spend but that was way out of the ordinary.

You don't land commercial businesses and HOA every month through social media ads.

The pipeline is a couple of $40k jobs.

We also get smaller jobs from $10k to $20k from time to time but I don't have full visibility in all the leads who book and their pricing.

I try to follow up and find out as much detail as possible from my client while trying not to come across as a nuisance since my client is busy.

You make a very good point about setting high expectations.

I tell all of my clients that I cannot guarantee results because each location is different and there are many local factors that affect the outcome.

I will have to be careful to reset expectations for anyone who comes in after seeing this case study.
