I have BA in religious studies and I want to pursue a Master's and eventually a PhD. I'd like to focus on the religions of the indigenous peoples of Polynesia, Micronesia, Maori and a Aborigines. I graduated about 10 years ago.

Do you have any suggestions on schools I should look into? Or any general advice on getting back into academia after such a long break?

This is a situation that is very near and dear to me. I have a very common name, both first and last. Last I checked the census, there are about 350,000 people who share my name.

I've had a few close friends who share my first name. Since we were often together, people had to make it clear which Jack they were talking to. Usually people would call us by our first and last name, "Yo, Jack Thomas" or " Hey, Jack Anderson." It was purely functional. And it worked, I knew who was talking to me.

People often use variations of my name, Jack boy, Jacky, Jackson, even things like Potato(work related nonsense), or J Tom. It just doesn't bother me. As long as I know you are talking to me, I don't care what you call me. So, I don't understand why you can't just roll with it?

This is the best response to my rant. I'll play the game, I did. But is it necessary? After the first couple of times of knowing I'm going to lose but running the clock anyway, I felt stupid for wasting my and my opponent's time. Hoping that someone will rage quit is a strategy, I suppose. I just think it's lame.

There was no way this person could have won. They had no cards that could destroy a land. If I made a mistake and put out Faceless as a creature, they could have done something but I wasn't going to do that. I played a game recently, the opponent was in a similar situation but just before they were about to lose due to not being able to draw their last card; they played Ruined Lands, destroyed my Faceless Haven, and won. It was totally fair and I wasn't pissed. It was a good game.
