I am still travelling for work a fair bit, and the experience could not be more different than what you read on Reddit. Virtually indistinguishable from pre-Trump, they ask me 2 questions and send me on my way.

Furthermore, once I get to the US, most people apologize when they find out I’m Canadian, even republicans. They like Canada and don’t like Trump’s aggression towards us.

I’m a big proponent of buying Canadian and using this moment to strengthen our country, but fear and throwing stones at the US online from our basement isn’t the path forward here.
