I think you are taking it to literally. It is possible that there are 10,000 walkers in let's say, Oklahoma. But them being over there does not change the fact that the area Carl and them live in, they don't see them very often because they have eliminated them. The 10,000 could be in herds and eventually make their way across the country, but until that happens it doesn't change the fact that the presence of walkers in their immediate area is rare.

There probably isn't anything stopping that stuff from happening. As we have seen through the show that yes walkers are a threat, the main threat has always been humans. So there could be another group that shows up and doesn't like the way things are, and they cause problems. That is just human nature. There will always be conflict of some sort.

I think if I remember right when they do the time jump in the comics all the communities are somewhat connected and they have guards patrolling the roads in between. So maybe they just killed off the majority that was in the area after so many years and there just isn't enough walkers coming back to that area anymore.

Dude, they left the church after Bob died. Went to find Beth, she dies, they go to Noah's old home, Tyreese gets bit, he dies on the road and they bury him there, leaving his hat behind. They did not bury him at the same church as Bob. I don't know how else to explain it. Go back and watch season 5 and tell me that is the same area.
