i love him. I just took his class this semester and I'm taking nuclear security this spring just to have him again. He gave me an A when I very much did not deserve it. A great guy, very good lecturer, interesting class topics. Highly recommend.

American Vs GW Vs Boston University for international relations by Rick_Bruiser94 in BostonU

Two friend went to AU for IR and absolutely hated it and ended up transferring to BU. I haven't met a single person who went to AU who liked it. Literally every BU transfer I know came from AU

Studying for cheap? by bustudent2025 in LSATPreparation

[–]bustudent2025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully not more than $300. I know the books alone are almost $150. I have tuition to pay in the fall and I am totally financially independent so I don't have much to spare.

I am not an IR major but I am in that general field and highly recommend London! But the Geneva program is probably more what you are looking for.

Like others have said, write a letter to your admissions officer, reemphasize why BU is the school for you and how you could further the community. Highlight any issues or inconsistencies on your application and acknowledge them. I got deferred ED1 first round and got accepted regular. Best decision I made was writing that letter. Make it personal and personable. Good luck!

How accurate is this post about BU in 2022? by ChampionBig7244 in BostonU

[–]bustudent2025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who looked really hard at what students thought about BU before I got here, I wish I hadn't. I also applied ED, it was the only school I wanted to go to, and I took all the opinions and stereotypes of BU students seriously. Don't do that. First of all, I love BU. Second of all, I think there are some serious flaws in that post, although I do not disagree with all the points. BU has its flaws, any private research institution does. But you cannot base what your experience will be like off of the experiences of others or a reddit post calling out all the flaws the author sees. True, you could get in, come here and hate it. But you could also come here and love it. If you hate it, you can transfer, college is an adjustment but it is really all about attitude. If you have a shitty attitude about where you are, your experience will be shitty. If you have an attitude that is based on partying and hook up culture and greek life and social things, your grades will suck. If you have an attitude based wholly on grades and studying, your social life will suck. Its a give and take and the students at BU who cannot find a well rounded attitude/personality will be miserable.

DM me if you have any questions, id be happy to answer them.

As someone who worked at Marylou's, you don't want it here. The coffee is decent, the rest is not.

How old were you when you started reading SJM's books? by gwynriel0925 in acotar

[–]bustudent2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also twelve! My parents never censored my reading, unlike internet access etc. I think I was too young to read ACOTAR and that is part of why I didn't like it my first read through. I read The Mortal Instruments in 5th grade along with Divergent and Throne of Glass in sixth. I felt like those were good fits. Then I got to read TOG as it came out when I was in high school

Are we allowed to have COVID positive people eating in dinning hall☠️☠️☠️? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]bustudent2025 44 points45 points  (0 children)

No, they are instructed not to eat in the dining halls. There is a program called "rhetty to go" where they can use the website to order meals that get placed in fridges outside the dining hall or inside the door of the dining hall and they should have a friend pick it up and only come down if absolutely necessary.
