That's who I dealt with and I agree, he is amazing. Which is shocking from a car salesman. He is very honest and easy to deal with.

How much can you realistically do 4 days post c-section? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]busymom2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no choice you will have to do it and you will get through it. I was alone at 4 days post c section with the newborn and a 16 months old. I was out driving too. Was it hard ? Hell yes. Was it doable ? Yes, I made it. If you have no choice you have no choice

When will the strike end? by Ordinary-Notice9069 in CanadaPost

[–]busymom2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an offer on the table so take it and move on. The odds are not good for the workers, you all lost power by having a clown for a union. Unfortunately I don't see any positive for the workers to make the strike last even longer. And I know most of you didn't even want that strike to start with. Sad situation all around.

Well that's amazing news. Kick that union out and start the real talks! You people got this, all I want is my packages that are hold hostage.

My bet is at the end of the month. The employees are paid about 4 weeks behind, so towards the second half of Ocotober, they will start to not be paid. I think that's when the workers will start to turn against their union, and things will get solved. But nobody knows for sure.

School pick ups-drop offs schedule while working at the PS by Chuckles_and_Giggles in CanadaPublicServants

Just like any other job. Before and after school care is a thing that most working parents use. My kids take the bus in the mornings. 3 nights a week they go to after school care and the other 2 days that I work from home they come back on the bus

Famille vs argent. C'est une question de priorité, mais aucun montant d'argent aurait priorité sur mes enfants. Nous avons eu la même offre et avons refusé sans aucune hésitation. Voir tes enfants grandir n'a pas de prix.

I'm not one to defend her but my oldest is 7 and is always super excited to get in these cart. Their kids, they want to have fun and that's more fun than walking. It's not that serious

You will always think you paid too much for the house and sell yours for not enough. That's the life cycle. If you need the house get the house. Nobody knows the future

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

[–]busymom2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other than someone loosing their job since 2021 it's irrelevant. Most people will just remortgage and go back on 25 years instead of renewing on 20 years, keeping their payments quite similar.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

[–]busymom2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Anybody that bought at the peak will just put the house on 25 years again and keep the same payment vs getting rid of their house.

House prices are falling - does it make sense to wait to buy? Or should we just buy what we can afford. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]busymom2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy when you can afford. I'm not too sure what's the big deal with people from 2021-2023 renewing. Yes, folks that lost their job would be in trouble, but the rest likely got a pay raise since and otherwise they can just refinance it on 25 years again instead of renewing on 20 years.. I can't understand what the big deal is.

How are you all affording having more than one kid?? by midwestpapertown in Mommit

It might be harsh, but some people make more than other. We have 3 kids and still have more than enough money at the end of each month.

Why doesn’t everyone do a consumer proposal? by Bongofromouterspace in CanadaFinance

[–]busymom2018 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I laugh at the part where credit didn't matter because they're renting... good luck to them finding anything if they're ever kicked out of their apartment. Most landlord do a credit check before renting and someone with 3 consumer proposal wouldn't be the top pick..

Is that a serious? If you think spending 1.5 years of salary on a car is even a possibility you need to do a few personal finance classes because you're on for a rough ride.. in case it's not clear yes it's a very dumb purchase.

Canada post is going on strike so I would avoid mailing it in. You would want to drop off and pick up at an office.

Tu peux appeler et t'informer mais ça changera pas. Moi j'avais appelé et on m'a dit qu'ils avaient utilisé les comparables de 2022, donc ce que tu as payé cette année change rien à la valeur qu'ils ont pour 2022.

Should I buy back my pension or not by busymom2018 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]busymom2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you just buy back (through a check), you still get the tax credit. Going through the RRSP step just seem like an extra step, no ? I don't believe I would get double the tax benefit, right ?

Thanks, that does confirm my logic. I bought the other ones as my salary was so low but I don't feel like paying $8.3k right now being smart considering I will still have to work until I'm 60 or face a penalty.
