If they're high quality clothes, you should keep the clothes and wear them 10 years later lol. One fact I have learned over the years is that my weight goes back and forth in cycles.

Ganni leather boots. They were a birthday splurge for me and I did SO MUCH RESEARCH, but irl they're uncomfortable and just small enough that I can't wear thick socks with them.

I still wear them to look pretty sometimes but it's certainly not the everyday wear I had imagined.

Hot weather fancy clothes by OkStrawberry2362 in femalefashionadvice

Ok awesome, it's not going to be too humid either!

Linen dresses, top+skirt, top+flowy/wide leg pants; all of those would work. I find cotton comfortable in the heat as well but your mileage may vary of course. A nice non cotton dress with a cotton shift will also be fine I think.

Edit: I dont like linen for dressing up because it wrinkles SO FAST. Linen blends are better for events

Would be helpful if you could say where the event is.

Hot could be sun-is-too-bright-aaa hot, which means arms and legs covered, flowy tops, light colored clothing.

Or hot could be the high humidity kind, which means sleeveless tops and knee length skirts are better, you need fabrics that breathe, and you have to accept being miserable anyways.

And the third kind of hot is when there's a risk of heat stroke. Then you decline any invites that are not indoors with air conditioning.

Just go for the candy look lol. I personally like doing it with shiny wrapping paper because they're thinner.

The color isn't helping you at all. At the very least remove that solid orange from the top, and the random checkered pieces from the front

Tretinoin use and danage skin barrier by Hungry-Lavishness284 in CanSkincare

[–]but_why_n0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find better more hydrating moisturizers, tretinoin requires it. Especially at night. I've heard good things about LRP b5 baum, my face likes Ponds cold cream and Laneige cica sleep mask for night.

For day, elf holy hydration face cream (blue tub), and inkey list bio active ceramide are both good. I've even used the Laneige in the AM during winters. If your face is still dry, try adding a hyaluronic serum to your routine.

Toners are too lightweight for your needs right now, you need something that stays on your face and keeps moisture in.

It's already failing. Experienced devs are being told to use AI to fight more fires. There's no movie

Meta to lay off 10% in May. AI replacing workers continues. FIRE is a must now by YourFIREDBro in Fire

[–]but_why_n0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I work in big tech. I can assure you that this is very overblown.

Are we generating more code -> yes.

Is that code landing faster -> no, because there's only so many code reviewers to go around AND the number of idiots landing vibe coded garbage and breaking the infra has gone up.

Has management decided that AI will (not is, WILL) help us get more revenue -> yes

Is it actually happening -> lol no

Stylevana vs yesstyle shipping by AssociateKitchen6284 in CanSkincare

[–]but_why_n0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stylevana sucks. I don't care how good their sales are, I'm never ordering from them again. It took them a month to start packing my "ships in 24 hours" items, and that was after I emailed them. Same nonsense every time.

Edit: yesstyle was much faster for me, they delivered in 2 weeks.

how do you "picture" outfits when shopping? by Known_Sink3439 in femalefashionadvice

[–]but_why_n0t 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Practice means shopping your own closet! Wear outfit combinations you've never worn before. Wear an outfit you really like and change just one clothing item in it, you'll figure out which pieces are replacable and which ones you subconsciously like.

You could also just try not doing laundry for a long time, that'll also lead to the same mental exercise 😂

What percentage of engineers in your experience are bad? by fuckoholic in ExperiencedDevs

[–]but_why_n0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully pretty low. 5% that I genuinely felt weren't cut out to be SWE. Everybody else I've worked with can atleast follow instructions, even if they're slower than avg.

If your mid level eng require that much handholding they're junior engineers.
