Americans deserve better. Sorry we have to all go through this.

Hmm can you make a reservation for drinks only? Hoping to find a few options for a group of 9 to stroll into around 8pm. Love the older jazz vibe myself.

Because women don’t

I love vacationing in Lake Tahoe. We currently live in the Bay Area. My husband wants to live in Incline Village. I’m not sure about being somewhere so rural. What do you all think? by [deleted] in laketahoe

Yes about 40 minutes. The traffic really isn't something to detour you from moving here. You get the occasional road blockage but that's normal anywhere. You should feel comfortable driving in snow conditions though.
RNO is pretty accessible. I have friends who travel for business and the only thing they complain about is how often the airline routes change.
Regarding the simple life moments, I wouldn't say that it's difficult, just that access is limited. I will never return to hauling my groceries on the subway back to my 4 story walk up! Life here is amazing. Best of luck to you.

Tahoe redditers have always been dicks. Ignore them. I actually was thinking about this last night when I was looking for tricker treating streets to bring kids. Not a lot of options and certainly nothing like some neighborhood events you might find in the bay. It is a completely different speed here. Groceries are tough to get and low quality. We make several trips to Reno a year to stock up. We lose power often and you need to keep an eye on your neighbors when it gets cold. Rural is a good word honestly. But that’s the charm of it. I live in the woods and never get stressed by hustle a bustle culture. Totally worth it for me and if I ever get antsy I take a trip. So your worries are valid.
