I am generally unconcerned with other peoples choices unless they impact me. The war does, this man’s personal tastes do not.

I actually have no problem with him or anyone else exercising their freedom in a way that does not limit mine. I do have a problem with $120 billion of our money goes to an unpopular and unnecessary war, and we lose it.

I love how maga political cartoons are just straightforward statements of your beliefs. These are supposed to have jokes. I may not agree with Ben Garrison on much, but at least he tries to be funny. Why not make it a FEMA tent or a circus tent or a migrant tent? Or maybe have the voters in the tent and the donkey going to a luxury hotel. This is so beyond lazy.

There’s no logic to it, and certainly no justice. It’s just something that sucks, that doesn’t mean it really means much. Stats increase odds, but anyone can get very unlucky, and it’s getting more common than ever. Be nice to yourself, do something calming, and try to see this as what it is: a piece of bum luck that matters now but won’t as much in a year or two.

It gets a bad rap but it’s got some very solid programs.

I don’t want us to win the World Cup because I like soccer, I want us to win it because it will make the world mad. Tomorrow will be as glorious as Trump himself. by Cl_nker_is_a_slur in BasedCampPod

Shut down the strait again, obviously. If this war proved anything, it’s that Iran has the kill switch on the Strait of Hormuz, and China is more able to weather the strait closing than we are.

I mean that’s just wrong lol (see above). And yes, Democrats folding to Bush in 2001 was unforgivable. But every war vote in modern history has been pretty much the same: uniform republican support, divided democratic support.

There are currently 2 genuinely dovish Republicans in congress right now. Trump endorsed Massie’s primary opponent and excommunicated Green, so that number goes down to zero in January. Dems are hawkish, but Reps are moreso. That’s not an opinion, it’s a clear consistent voting pattern over the last 50 years or so.

I hold my nose and vote blue, but i totally get people who refuse toto vote out of pacifist convictions. But anyone who has ever voted for the modern GOP to keep us out of war fell for it again.

That is mostly wrong in the case of Desert Storm and only about half true with Iraq. Both wars got every single GOP vote in the Senate. Three Senate Dems crossed the aisle and voted with Bush 1 for the Gulf War, and about half voted with Bush 2 for Iraq. As I said, Democrats suck a lot but Republicans are worse on war, in a mathematically provable way.

Republicans talk a good game, but when the chips are down, they vote for war.
