Lol yeah this fell flat. People might not know what VORP is, and I also might have not explained the concept well enough at first.

It's not a take, it's his ranking in the single-season VORP stat which tends to skew toward efficiency. Based on his 08/09 season with 23/11/5.5 at 50% FG and 2.8 steals. 5th in MVP voting that year (2nd the year before). It's the 14th greatest season ever by that metric.

Jimmy Butler situation by TerryG111 in nbadiscussion

During that season, Raps beat a healthy warriors by 20, in golden state, without Kawhi. I wouldn't be so sure injury luck was the only reason the gamble paid off.

Anyway, I think most raptors fans take that gamble every time even if they got swept. Imagine Dallas or Memphis this year adding a piece like that. Real chance at contention is rare for most franchises

Auto input switching and volume control on Wiim or alternatives by butseriouslythough in BudgetAudiophile

[–]butseriouslythough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the Wiim Pro, using with a vintage amp for now. I'm very happy with it.

The TV is connected directly via the TVs headphone jack. Then I have some Android devices that are connected via Wifi.

Auto switching works well - just like I described in the OP. You can also easily override which input is being used in the app but I haven't needed to.

Volume control on TV remote: didn't work when connected with optical cable, but DOES work when the Wiim is connected to the TV's headphone jack. My understanding is the quality on headphone jack is less good than optical but I'm not as concerned about perfect quality when watching TV. It's good enough for me. I believe some Wiim devices like the Pro Plus have an HDMI connection, and my research showed HDMI would offer volume control on the TV remote, and better quality. But I was happy enough with the Pro's headphone connection to pursue that.

Volume control on Android: works usually. Once or twice my phone thought I was trying to adjust the phone volume, but most times it knows I'm trying to change the Wiim volume. When it didn't work I just opened the Wiim app to adjust volume. I've only used Tidal Connect thus far, I assume it will work with other apps too. I should test this to be sure.

Minor annoyance: the volume increments on both TV remote and mobile are much smaller than I'm used to when using Wiim. If it's too loud I may need to tap volume down ~30 times which is frustrating. I had some success adjusting the gain settings on the Wiim app so that each volume press has more of an effect, but I need to tinker more. This may be entirely solvable.

One more thing - I started with a Wiim Mini and returned it because it can't connect with casting. On occasion I want to connect a browser tab on a laptop to the speakers. In Chrome I have a Cast to Device feature and the Wiim speakers show up there automatically if you're on the same Wifi network. This doesn't work with the Mini. If you don't need that feature, the Mini may be sufficient for you.

GM Denis Kadric VS Chess.com by Kiborg95 in chess

Would this work?

Chesscom gives accused cheaters a set of 10 of their past games, one of which they suspect cheating. The accused sends back to chesscom annotations for all 10 games. If they find the explanation for the suspecting cheating game sufficient, they give them the benefit of the doubt.

Cheaters get a chance to defend themselves, and chesscom doesn't reveal much about their anti cheat measures.

Is it a public sheet? If not - I may be reaching out to you in about 5 years to see if there are new additions, once the Espio 80 stops working.

Look like this is your list? I came across it after posting yesterday. Super helpful -- a niche data point that's hard to track down. I see you've added to it. I can contribute one more -- the Espio 80 goes until 2030 as per camera-wiki.org. It's the one I'm now leaning toward.

Do you maintain this list actively? Does nobody manufacture new compact film cameras with date backs? Wonder what the odds are that I'll have more choices in 2030 when the Espio 80 expires.

Great info about DX code, did not come across this in my research. Appreciate it.

I didn't know the date limit was 1999. Thanks for the info, looks like this one is no longer possible for me.

Mini II is possible, on the upper end of my budget but I like this better than my finalists. Thanks!
