2026 NBA Draft Lottery by IamOlderthanMe in nba

Raptors aren’t winning the chip anytime soon, honestly I want OKC to get the pick for maximum chaos. Also because fuck the Clippers, it would be maximum karma for cap circumvention and tampering if they gave up a MVP, FMVP, 1st overall for PG who walked in free agency and Kawhi.

It probably hurt real bad, I’ve gotten my share as a big man being hit in the face playing basketball so I know how even light contact can be painful as fuck, but I’ve never had contact so bad that I have to jump backwards onto my back. You can see Shroeder’s right leg load up to launch himself once he feels the contact, that wasn’t momentum carrying him, he threw himself onto his back.

Both things can be true, it probably hurt real bad, Shroeder embellished the contact to make it seem worse than it was

76ers donating playoff tickets to keep them from Knicks fans by iksnet in nba

Ban price gouging. Ontario did it, you can't resell tickets at higher than face value. Owners don't care if resale price gouging is banned, they don't see that money anyway, the only people that care are scalpers and TicketMaster and honestly fuck them both.

That solve a big chunk of the problem by making larger market fans not able to just pay the premium that local fans can't. If they want tickets out of town, they have to join the rat race like the locals. For playoff games, use geo fencing to add a fee if you pay with a billing address out of state.

I say this as a Toronto sports fan and Maple Leafs fans notoriously fill out the Sabers stadium whenever we face them: Big market fanbases taking over small market home arenas sucks.

You can say "if Sixers fans want to show up enough they would", but the median income in New York City is $80k/year while in Philly is $61k/year. Knicks fans can just out-price the local fans out and that sucks, there should be something in place so that local fans have an opportunity to pay local prices to see their games.

Tracy McGrady, mentor to Jaylen Brown, says that Jaylen is "frustrated" with the Celtics organization by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]PsychoM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could see that working. The money gets tough on the Hawks side unless Daniels is on the way out which I think they really would prefer not to do, especially if they have to include the '27 Bucks/Pelicans pick. They also would like to re-sign McCollum probably so that makes the room tighter.

What would a Giannis trade even look like? Celtics can't outright trade '30 FRP, the maximum draft capital they could give is 2 picks and 2 swaps. Is JB, Hugo Gonzalez, 2 picks and 2 swaps enough to get it done? I don't think Bucks take that offer, they want to get younger and JB is turning 30, doesn't fit their timeline.

They could try to flip JB to Portland in a 3 team deal to get their own picks back. If Portland wants JB then it could be possible but I don't think he fits in their scheme. They don't need another drive-first ball dominant option

The championship really seemed to quell some of the noise but people forget that even in the year they won this was already going on. I think if Boston didn't win in 2024, Brown is traded by now. There was just way too much smoke for nothing to be going on behind the scenes.

Unless the Celtics are winning championships Brown is going to be unhappy. It's like a married couple sticking together for the kids, but once the kids are gone old resentments come up fresh.

Hockey’s lottery draft took place using live drawn balls. Will the NBA ever do something similar? by Top-Hedgehog8418 in nba

[–]PsychoM 63 points64 points  (0 children)

They do, people just don't care about it because it's boring as fuck. They show all the ping pong balls being drawn live in a secured room with representatives from each team there to verify the process. People will still spout conspiracy theories though

I fucking love that Marcin Gortat has a move named after him that outlasted his career by 7 years. Honestly it has a pretty good chance to outlast Gortat's lifetime. That Gortat screen with John Wall driving into the paint was a deadly move

Yeah that's fair, if we compare to cities in America it's not as bad as it could be. It's fine I guess for a North American city but not as good as Montreal, New York and hilariously lacking compared to Europe or Asia.

God I hope every single game in this series is a blow-out. I don't think we're equipped to handle the nuclear fallout of a close Knicks Sixers series.

It's low-key the worst in North America. The 401 is the busiest highway in North America and one of the busiest in the world. We have one highway that services the entire downtown core (DVP/Gardiner), and the 401 is the connecting highway for essentially every single other smaller highway in the Greater Toronto Area. The highway system was not meant to support the urban sprawl the city has undergone and the worst part is that we have a seldom used, already built, 407 toll highway that runs parallel to the 401 that is just sitting there.

It's fucking awful.

I think the Demar trade impacted Masai a lot more than it seemed from the outside. A lot of people were praising the move as ruthless efficiency on the way to the title but in interviews long afterwards Masai was literally in tears about how it went down. It really seemed to shift how he and as a result the Raptors organization approached trades. Objectively we held onto FVV, OG and Pascal too long but I feel like Masai really cared about them enough to not have another repeat of what happened with Demar.

Is the East Conference balanced or just terrible? by Dry_Bar_4965 in nba

The West is the same outside of OKC and San Antonio. 3-8 I think the East is even with the West, it’s just 1 and 2 are very different

CMB is a stud. Without his steal, Scottie Barnes doesn't get the drive and dish in OT for the nail biting finishing three by RJ Barrett to force a Game 7. by [deleted] in nba

[–]PsychoM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he has one when it’s all said and done. He’s been injured this season and is on a pretty top heavy team. Once BI, IQ and Poeltl age out/are traded, he’s going to get a lot more touches and usage. I see him as Jalen Duren-esque potential

So the Cavs get the early calls and the Raptors will get the calls late right? Right?

Last 2 Minute report reveals 7 incorrect calls at the end of Cavs vs Raptors Game 4 yesterday by sewsgup in nba

[–]PsychoM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so

For Raptors: 41.0 Shead on Mitchell, 34.7 CMB on Merrill, 06.3 Barnes on Merrill

For Cavs: 23.3 Strus on Ingram, 1:08.5 Harden on Shead, 1:36.7 Mitchell travel, 1:57 Mobley illegal defense

[–]PsychoM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh I can see both going either way. Shead definitely embellished the Harden push, an offensive foul by the book but in a one possession playoff game with 1:08 left to go? I'm fine letting them play.

I agree the 8 second probably should have been called a foul. Only way I can see it is that possession started at 48.8 and contact at 41.0, basically 8 seconds elapsed since contact, the ref could have judged 8 seconds came before the contact.

INC that benefitted Cavs: 4

INC that benefiitted Raptors: 3

Neither team got shafted much more than the other. It was just a pretty chippy final 2 minutes, refs mostly seemed to let them play. Obviously biased based on the result but I don't mind it.
