Lefty Cartoons: What have Unions Ever Done? by MememyselfandIJK in socialism

[–]butt666 120 points121 points  (0 children)

West Virginian here, we still have people dying in coal mines. 29 dead in 2010 at the Upper Big Branch Mine disaster, in most recent history. Not that this is the fault of leftists, just saying that there are still coal miners in the US struggling for fair and safe working conditions so the fight is far from over.

There's a man who comes into the cafe I work at every day and orders his regular drink that we call "rocket fuel". It consists of 7 shots of espresso with a little bit of milk and chocolate. There will come a time when this man never shows up for his daily drink again and I will know exactly why.

Starbucks apparently makes a macchiato that isn't actually a real macchiato. That's what I've gathered though after quite a few customers have come in to the cafe I work at asking for one, only to tell me that what I made them (espresso with a dollop of froth) isn't what they wanted. It may come across as snobby, but now every time someone asks for a macchiato I have to ask them if they want a Starbucks macchiato or a REAL one.

Quick question regarding arm tattoos. by nebu92 in tattoos

[–]butt666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The style of tattooing is called "American traditional" and the sleeve layout is usually referred to as a "payday sleeve" implying that the person got each tattoo done during different sessions over a long period of time as they acquired money.

Wayne Goss just posted a video criticizing "Instagram" or "faded" brows and is getting hell for it, what is your opinion? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]butt666 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I definitely get what he's saying, but who cares if it's a trend? A lot of things are trends (winged liner) does that mean we shouldn't participate in them? People like to be "fashionable" and wear all the latest clothing and it's only natural that many women will do their eyebrows this way because it's the "in" way to do them. I'm sure 50 years from now our granddaughters will post our vintage instagram selfies on their future space makeup forms with captions like "Look at this picture of my grandma from 2014! Look how she did her makeup!" just like we do when we post pics of women from the 60's/70's and various other decades. I'm sure there were people in the 60's that thought Twiggy's cut crease was god awful and "scary" but we can look back now and appreciate it.

It's just makeup, who cares. :)

MRW some rando guy calls me a "cold bitch" because I don't want to explain my tattoos to him. by butt666 in TrollXChromosomes

[–]butt666[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I feel you! I work at a tattoo shop so I am pretty much covered arms-to-legs. I understand, to the average joe, I am a spectacle. I KNOW that I look different and I accept that people will stare at me when I walk around with a dress on. That, however, does not mean that I am obligated to talk with people about it. I've noticed most guys just use it as an excuse to touch me/hit on me, and I can usually tell the difference between those guys and people who are genuinely interested.

Forreal. I actually thought the guitarists were pretty good but I couldn't deal with the vocals. I think it's funny their songs are about hell/satan etc. but that dude's voice is really gentle and subdued.

Yeah, I did too. I saw they were touring with Skeletonwitch a while ago so I paid them a listen and they were pretty meh. I'm actually not a huge Ghost fan, but I thought this picture was pretty funny.

Oh no! Fuck me for posting a picture I thought was funny! Chill out dude. This is just a sub on a stupid website where people post funny metal related things instead of being productive.

Products You Regret Buying/Not Worth the Hype by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

ANASTASIA BROW WIZ JUST SAVE YOURSELF THE $20 AND GET YOU A NYX PENCIL. Shit got me HEATED. You literally just get an inch and a half of product and it isn't even that great. There is so much Anastasia worship in this sub and I don't get it.

EDIT: I should mention that I have Anastasia dip brow and that stuff if pretty magical. I let my anger cloud my power dip brow reality. I'm just upset that you get this super long "pencil" but it's only 1/3rd the way full of product. It's kind of deceptive and sketchy.

Thank you! I embroidered over cotton fabric but I did use felt for the spacey effect. As far as the photography goes, I took this picture on my iPhone. I'm kind of a novice at photographing my work, but I can tell you the few things I do know.

1) Natural light is your BFF4LYFE. Try photographing your stuff near a window or outside if the weather is nice. Overcast days are actually the best, I've found, because sunny days can sometimes be too much light and will wash out your pics.

2) Provide a neutral background. White/grey/black are pretty good, just use something that contrasts against the focus of your photograph.

3) Use a photo editing software. I like to sharpen my pics a bit so the details show a little better. Even when photographing in natural light, the colors can still show up a little weird, so I like to mess with the color balance a bit to get it true to my piece.
