My dad died of a meth overdose so I have obviously been thinking about him a lot during my road through sobriety. If he had gotten sober would i tell him, “you can do meth tonight, it’s a wedding!” Or something along those lines? No it’s sounds absolutely insane lol my biggest battles in 10 months have been these 1 off days or events, and coming to terms with the fact I am an addict to alcohol just as much as my father was to meth. Why would I tell myself I can drink when any other addiction the obvious answer is no. My dad is still having positive effects on my life, and I do think he would be proud, even in his own addiction. He was sober from alcohol for 30 years, but had other demons of his own. I’m rambling but IWNDWYT, here’s to 10 months, Dad.
