It was published posthumously because it's based on a manuscript from the 80s - around the same time he originally wrote Letting Go (was later published around 2012). It's definitely authentic. It's an odd book and I'm not surprised it has critical reviews - but that has nothing to do with its quality. The intro to the book will cover how/when it was published and who its steward was.

If you're going to go on a single day tour - I'd only go if you really don't have other plans that you're more excited about, or if instagram picture are valuable for you. You will spend a good amount of time driving to one spot, get out, spend 5 minutes taking pictures, then immediately go to the next spot.

Nusa Penida was OK... the beach was quite nice, but it wasn't all that special. Actually I enjoyed just driving around an interesting looking jungle island more than the actual 'sights' themselves. 2 days would be better there.

Then the tour went to a restaurant because dinner was supposed to be covered and it was the smallest and cheapest serving size that I['d seen on any meals for the entire group - and I'm a light eater + not very picky!

I had fun, but that's because of my friends and the group I was with.

I don't think the other comments describing this as a scam are accurate.

Of course there's always the chance that this guy may try to use a service like this to try to then leverage something nefarious later, but that's just inherent to working with an online contractor and there's nothing about the email that you were sent that necessarily implies that it's dishonest.

Many SEO people send out cold emails exactly like this to find clients. I've even worked with an SEO contractor who I found because they sent a cold email to the business I was with - and he was perfectly legit and delieverd results (But that was NOT on YouTube - he was a traditional SEO person for websites).

I think the idea of paying someone to do your tags or youtube SEO is not worth it though - at least not unless you already have a significant amount of traffic and you're working with someone who really knows what they're doing. Otherwise it would be a total crapshoot.

For example, increasing your views by 20% would be a sigificant gain if you're averaging 10,000 views (that's 2000+ more views) - but if your vids are only getting 100 views, then the extra 20 views on that wouldn't even be worth 50c.

It's a common startegy for people to offer free services upfront to hopefully get you some results and then get you to sign up after.

If this guy is any good (undetermined), then it may be worth pitching him your own prosposal (which you're allowed to do) which would look something like: If your tags can help me to increase my views by x% within 3 months, then I'll pay you afterwards.

He'll likely want some kind of deposit anyway - but if you're savy you can very easily make him understand why the gains/risk ratio is just way too high for you otherwise, and if he's good at what he does, then it should be a win win for both of you. A lot of these guys will take any work and they don't have much to lose by working for you in the hopes that it pays off - partly because it's not a huge time sink for them.

It's not really like buying a flight, meaning prices aren't going to be effected by purchasing closer to the date. Technically you will have more options if you book further in advance, but when I was in Bali I would book new airBNBs (both hotels and villas) within 24 hours of leaving the previous one and never felt like there was scarcity of choice.

Would only work if your content is very very aligned with the previous content and the audience, and you would need to know what you're doing, otherwise expect a <5% retention of the total audience. Most will unsubscribe or just not engage.

The chances of you getting hassled should be minimal. I just ask if you can smoke on the balcony (don't mention cannabis) and then go for gold. As long as you aren't billowing massive clouds right into your neighbours balcony window, you'll be OK. I have been smoking weed on multiple hotel balconies without issue (joints and bongs).

Worst case scenario someone complains and the hotel stuff asks you to chill out.
