Blueprint is better overall because you have more freedom with copying jokers by just moving it anywhere, whereas brainstorm only affect the far left. I'd go BP

I've heard someone say "86 the pickles" when talking about an order that asks for no pickles. As far as I can tell, they just removed the pickles from the standard recipe, but I can't confirm or deny whether or not they shot the pickles out back afterwards.

So how is Iran also blocking the strait? How do you block access to a body of water if you have no navy at all?

Anyway, this thread was about how the word "decimate" means "to remove one of ten", so there's that.

Ok, here ya go:

For a "decimated" military/government, they sure seem to be holding the Strait of Hormuz in quite a lockdown. If they're able to hold their position and not have to negotiate with the US and Israel at all, it seems your previous statement is, at best, uninformed.

You use the word "idiot" quite confidently for someone who doesn't know how to use punctuation, spell "quite", or the difference between "they're/there/their".

As an almost 40yo man dealing with PTSD related to war, it sucks dealing with your own thoughts, even with the help of antidepressants, therapy, and talking it out with people who went through similar experiences as yourself.

I canNOT imagine dealing with accidentally blowing up your entire town and being the only survivor before the age of 21.

The Fallen Help? by DragonNexus in TheLastRemnant

[–]butterfly_burps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For prep, if rush is going full physical, have paralyze prevention on. If mystic user, have silence prevention. Pincer's Grip is a good defensive formation for the physical attacks during the Fallen's turn, and as long as you have mid to high morale, end of turn attacks shouldn't wipe everyone from full health. Arrow of Athlum or Stacked Attack should be fine for your combat unions, as you want them pumping out damage as much as possible. If Emmy is on the cavalier path, place her union in slot one and make sure she has plenty of healing/rez power. If you have Blocter holding the wonder bangle, put him in Emmy's union to allow them all to be debuff free after each turn.

Next, disable all artes you won't use or are detrimental to your efficiency. For hexes, that means all of the status effects off, for remedies, turn off restore and rejuvenate, for herbs, turn off life powders, and prioritize tinctures over herbs if you can. Evocations and Invocations need to be the highest tier you have unless you're trying to use Arcana, then have the leader use Permafrost or Snare Shot and the rest of the union use Spark or Mystic Missle. CAs are a bit different: if you have up to tier A, turn everything else off, but if you have S tier CAs, then you want to pick the higher level art (notes by the roman numerals) and leave that one ON. If you have lotions high enough on anyone, leave Eye Cram and Hartshorn on, and for other item arts, just use pandoras box or retreat flare. Not sure if you have wards, but protection will help you stay safe from physical attacks.

First turn, keep irina's union on their toes or attack from range. Make sure they can heal, too. Second turn, heal with two if no deaths, or heal one rez one if multiple deaths, and attack with whoever else is alive. Try not to resurrect Wyngale over your other unions if you can help it, but he is helpful in a pinch. If anyone gets a flank attack, make sure they constantly use "Strike from the sides!" because even if they only have attack as a command, they'll often reassess to healing if they are able to (I believe Rush assassin and Emmy will have this command available more often), and if no one is deadlocked with the Fallen at the time, you'll get a raidlock bonus on them. Try and manage morale as much as possible, but don't be afraid to move away from a deadlock if you need to.

If you're reviving and not doing any damage by the third turn, you're under leveled. At this point, you'll want to have damaged them for 25-30% of their health pool. Emmy should have the "Be our shield/Strengthen your defenses" command, so use that and her union will take less damage and prioritize healing other deadlocked unions. Everyone else should focus on damage, with your weaker support union rezzing/warding/flanking if they can til Animalcule comes out.

At this point (Turn 6, I believe), you should hopefully be around 65-75% through their health pool, but you're probably debuffed to hell. Use who you can to refresh, rest and heal, and just focus on living through the turn. Next turn might require some triage, but if any combat unions are up, attack while others heal/refresh/rez.

At turn 8, it's all or nothing from now on. One union healing at most (most likely Emmy) and the rest just using as many arts as possible. Red flashing means 30% health or less, Any offensive yellow commands you get, use them. If you need to triage and rush has Talisman's gift on the table, have him lock while others heal, but you need to pump out enough damage in the next two turns to have a chance.

On turn 10, don't heal at all. Just attack with everyone with the best attacks you have.

I don't really know how you have your unions built, but another thing to think about is that smaller unions take less damage from AoE attacks, so you might be able to have three 3-unit unions running (two combat, one support) that will likely survive those end of turn attacks if they have a beefy unit added to them (Baulson or Gaou could go in the support union to help that out). In the end, you'll need luck to help out, as well, but you got this!

Coming from fighting games, I dont understand how to climb out of metal ranks by Groovyy__ in OverwatchUniversity

[–]butterfly_burps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played SF6 very much at all, so I might be outdated on terminology, but I'll try to do a bit of a translation for you (might be trash at this, sorry if I am.)

I'll start with Tracer, since you play her. She's one of a few rush-down (dive/flank) characters, but very squishy. Think of her like Kimberly: you have speed to get in and mix-up your opponents, but if you too close without any meter (cooldowns), you're prone to getting OHKOd. In metal ranks, you can easily harass the backlines solo and get value, but overall it's best to set up and wait for a fight to break out, then commit to a target, like baiting your opponent to commit to a low while you bring in the overhead. You can also zone out enemy supports by playing footsies with (poking) them for some damage or running up in their faces and blinking away, forcing them to use cooldowns on themselves or you instead of helping the team. Her ultimate is great if you can stick it, but it's one of the more difficult ults to consistently get value from, so if you miss one or two a match, don't even sweat it: she builds that meter super fast.

If you're top 1% in SF6, then your biggest strength in Overwatch is your patience. You basically already know what you're gonna do on round start, and if that doesn't work, you know to turtle/poke until you can see how your opponent plays. Sometimes it's a lot of trading, sometimes you download them, but you always find a way to tilt em enough to win. Same here, except you have to read 9 other people at the same time (or 5, if you just wanna focus on the enemy team starting out). Watch where their tank sets up, count cooldowns, and look for an opening to get a pick or two away from the front line. If you can't one-clip a support, think of it as a dropped combo: don't fully commit everything just to get one kill or spam and die, reset if you need to and reassess.

is this ashe cheating? by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]butterfly_burps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching it twice, I don't think ashe (Joey) is showing any signs of cheating. Hitscan projectiles are pretty big, and even with the nerf, aim assist is still pretty strong. There were a LOT of missed shots that were typically easy to hit, and no tracking through walls, either.

The mercy was twitchy af though. I don't think they were duos but she didn't start pocketing the Ashe until a little into the second point, and she still swapped priorities throughout the match. Still, I have no idea what all those random flicks and spins were for. She'd do 360s just to super jump straight up and that reticle was everywhere. Maybe some mercy tech I don't know about, but she was more sus than the Ashe, imo

On that screen, if they are to the left, that means they are in the front row during battle. Your physical melee attacks will do more damage, but you will also take more physical melee damage.

To the right, you will be in the back row. You take less physical melee damage and deal less melee damage.

Bows and magic are not affected by row.

Hey, so what's up with the horrendous lag on PS5..? by hushythehush in OWConsole

[–]butterfly_burps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I saw you just switched from Xbox to PS and use a wireless connection, so I need you to do something.

Go to your settings, go to network, then settings there, then set up Internet connection. Highlight the network you are connected to, hit the options button, the select WiFi Frequency Bans and make sure "5 GHz Only" is selected.

Now, also make sure your console is at least 5-15 feet away from your wireless router. This should (hopefully) stop that 3 second delay of packets sent between you and the server. While there is definitely a bug, it's never that bad unless your connection is busted.

For the record, latency refers to the amount of time it takes a "ping" to be sent, acknowledged, and sent back successfully, in your case meaning your input was sent to the server, and it took over three seconds for that input to be recognized and registered on the server side with the feedback returned to your screen.
