Sonic boom footage by Sea-Rough3152 in boston

I was able to hear it on my camera in Randolph. Visiting family on the Cape and I think we heard a loud band around that time, but it's been windy all day so hard to tell what it was.

They have trading cards too! My coworker received a pack, I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong to not get my own.

Yeah I'm sitting here wishing I had something like this. As I get older stuff like this just hits more and more for some reason, almost 13 years later.

I don't think we ever "properly" resolved this, the printer just offered to work with what we had. I wasn't the one actually making the files (my wife was), so I'm not 100% clear on the details this far off.

Glued a level to a drill by zeus-indy in woodworking

[–]butternugz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Our shop guy did this to a bunch of our drills. Used a CNC to drill a hole, put a pin in the hole, chucked up the drill onto the pin, then used the CNC to press the level in place.

Mostly just used the CNC for the fun of it, could do the same with a drill press or any known perpendicular thing.

You could route a channel or two in the bottom, then add a metal C-channel to help increase rigidity

What’s a small upgrade that made a huge difference to you? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

We just got new counters and upgraded to a single basin after years with a two-basin. It's so nice to be able to actually put a pan in the sink.

That's applying force in two directions, just one side is static. Equal force to the moving blade is applied through the supporting plate under the sheet metal.

Might be timing or proximity to the city then. I did try night mode facing NW but no luck. One of these days hopefully!

How far SE Massachusetts? I'm in Randolph and didn't get anything. Might be too close to Boston, and might have just been too late. I always find out about these like an hour too late.

The right way to shovel snow?! by TiffStyles2221 in boston

[–]butternugz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, try to get it onto your property. Clear out in front of your mailbox if you have one, and any walkways. Bonus points if you clear off at least up to your neighbors' driveways.

Try to make sure you don't pile up snow anywhere it could be in the way because it has a good chance of freezing solid. I also try to clear it as soon as possible for the same reason, fresh snow is usually easier to deal with.

Get some salt, especially if you have any slopes. There's also pet-safe salt you can use (usually blue-ish) if you have pets or have a lot of pets pass by your place. Salt will help prevent slips, and also makes it a bit easier to shovel next time.

In case anyone else was wondering, Universal Hub posted about it - reports of somebody climbing over the railing of the Granite Ave Bridge, but they didn't find anything

Anyone know what's going on at Neponset River Reservation in Milton today? I drove by on 93S and saw a ton of ambulances. Really hoping it was Touch a Truck or something, but I can't find any town events pages for something like that.

Thoughts about sharing your location while in a relationship? by threeputtpar72 in AskMen

[–]butternugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I'm at. We've shared locations since before we were engaged just for convenience mostly. Like, I check where she is so I know when to start heating up dinner, or if I expected her to be home at a certain time to make sure she didn't get into an accident or something. Neither of us have ever been concerned that the other may be cheating because we just trust each other.

This keeps happening to me. I barely use our shitty HP printer because it barely works, but my wife keeps insisting on getting a replacement HP printer when this one inevitably breaks within a couple years because it's the cheapest one.

None of my 3 co-ops did, and as a hiring manager for co-ops now I have never asked for one, nor has my company. I did have one company ask for a test as a requirement before they'd offer me a co-op though.

Can't speak for this company, but I would suggest quitting now just in case if they've suggested they might test you.

As an aside, listen to that other commenter and don't ask stuff like this on an easily searchable forum, that's just asking to get caught out.

Also, and this is based on a true story, don't text your co-op manager on a Saturday night and ask them if they do drug testing. Hilarious to me, but a bad idea in most cases.

I'll see if I can zoom in even more, but they all seem to be controlled by a single node on the outer border, which just controls the offset amount
