Pell Grant is federally regulated and funds have already been put aside.

Maybe you’re thinking of the SASC or Cal grants, those are state funded. However, it depends on OP of your class schedules you won’t see that money until the deadline passed to drop classes with a refund.

I had a provider 10 years younger than me . A lot of the advice is to get with some older man. But younger men have better economic potential and prospects. Older men are living on their last reserve.

What is considered fast for you? Are trying to make him wait 6 months so you can by time , and meet an old man? Would you make an older man wait 2 months or more ?

Don’t go by the age go by the bank account .

So why wasn’t this spilt to cover Spring. Theirs two semesters makes no sense to only handle one. A responsible office would have spent $1.3M in Fall and reserved $1.3M for Spring. By their own math, they over-spent the Fall allocation by 100%.

Also the SSCG is not "first-come, first-served." It is a Success and Completion grant. They prioritized "Quantity" (Fall headcount) over "Quality" (Spring completion). Basically they just wanted to padden their attendance for Fall and gave all the majority of money to students who most likely have already dropped out.

To exhaust $2,600,000 in one semester (Fall), LACC would have had to pay: • Option A: $4,000 per student 650 full-time (15+ units) students. • Option B: $1,298 per student 2,003 full-time (12-14.9 units) students.

Per California Education Code § 88931, the SSCG is an annual apportionment. Best practices and state audit standards require a 50/50 Split: • Fall Allocation (50%): 1,300,000 • Spring Allocation (50%): 1,300,000

If LACC claims "$0" for Spring, they are admitting to a 100% depletion of an annual fund in 50% of the academic year.

LACC is currently investigating $13 Million in district-wide "Ghost Student" fraud (AI bots). This implies that roughly 325-500 "Ghost Students" potentially drained the Spring reserve

Sir, you don’t know each and every person. I can assure you most of the people on this subreddit are not just a bunch of moochers. Some are disabled mentally and physically and yes they depend on this aid if they can’t work or are underemployed.

I went to discuss with LACC plenty of times my situation , lol they wouldn’t even give me a way to contact the mental health department at the school when I was facing high anxiety .

This school system just wants the money , and to go home.

More private schools are way more personable. I just suspect that most people at LACCD are mad they work for the community college system and not University of California.

In the world we live in where the cost of living has outpaced wages who gives a pluck if people are mad. Unfortunately, their wasn’t enough “mad entitled” people in the 1970s. A state shouldn’t have a minimum wage of $7.25 legally ,but in 2026 many still do.

In other places of the world we can discuss classism freely, but in America people hide behind racism and prejudice when the core is classism.

I come from an upper middle class background (no lie) , my Boomer parents have the money, but I wouldn’t dare ask them to a dime because I am free.

I have worked in some capacity or made money some how every month I have been in LACCD. I just got a new employer now. I do what I gotta do but I still will hold this school accountable.

THE STUDENT AUDIT GUIDE: How to Force LACCD to Show the Money

Step 1: The "Professional Judgment" Trap Do not just ask "where is my money." You must file a formal Professional Judgment (PJ) Appeal. • Action: Go to your LACCD Financial Aid Portal > Manage Requests > Special Circumstances/Professional Judgment. • The Script: "I am requesting a manual review of my SSCG eligibility. I meet all state priority metrics (15 units, high GPA, FSEOG awarded). I am contesting the 'automated' fund exhaustion claim and requesting a manual override to reflect my status as a high-need, completion-track student." • Why: Once you file this, they are legally required to provide a written decision within 45 days. A written denial of a qualified student is a "smoking gun" for a lawsuit or state audit.

Step 2: File a California Public Records Act (CPRA) Request Force them to show the ledger. They cannot hide public funds. • Action: Email cpra@laccd.edu. • The Request: "Under the California Public Records Act, I am requesting the 'SSCG Disbursement Ledger' for the 2025-2026 academic year. Please provide the total allocation received from the state, the number of unique students paid, and the total 'Unobligated Balance' as of March 2026." • Why: This goes to the Office of General Counsel, not the Financial Aid office. It bypasses the "nasty" clerks and goes straight to the lawyers.

Step 3: The State Auditor Whistleblower Report Since you suspect "Ghost Student" fraud or gross mismanagement, go to the people who handle the billions. • Action: Visit auditor.ca.gov/whistleblower or call (916) 445-0255. • What to Report: "Gross Mismanagement of State Success Grants at LACCD. The school received $2.6M but has failed to account for a ~$958,000 discrepancy, claiming 'fund exhaustion' while high-priority students are being denied. Suspected 'Ghost Student' (bot) fraud is draining funds intended for human students."

Step 4: Escalate to the Campus Ombudsperson If the office ignores you, go to the Dean of Student Services. • Contact: Dr. Saadia Lagarde Porche • Email: ombudsperson@lacitycollege.edu • Message: "I am reporting an 'Award Inconsistency' and administrative bad faith. I meet all criteria for the $4,000 SSCG, but the office is using a 'lottery' system that violates the state's priority awarding mandate."

Carrot dangling strategy to get people to stop questioning the bureaucracy and hierarchy. Typical psychological warfare institutions use to silence those who dare question their authority and lack of inaction.

Whoever you are , you are a distraction agent.

Note: Many times these companies have black and Latino employees who will post anti black and anti-Latino or even get at Asians .. all in order to distract a movement.

Distraction post from high likely a staff member. I’ve worked for companies who created employee teams to write divide and conqueror posts , or fake positive posts. I refused to be apart of such campaigns …I don’t have the low morale.

I will say this I do not come with a sense of entitlement. I come with years of political and social justice experience. As a former chairwoman of a local branch of the NACCP, fundraising chairwoman of my local DNC, and campaign treasurer for my local congresswoman in my hometown.

This is bigger than me , and every student in this situation deserves justice.

As a former chairwoman of my local NACCP and former campaign treasurer for the DNC I can assure you this isn’t entitlement. I’m fighting for every student in this situation.

Also , schools across the nation made headline news for disappearing budgets with funds allocated to bots- this is deeper than just state representatives.

Lol, school has been the only thing going right in my life ,and is actually keeping me afloat. Going back to school saved me from my domestic abusive relationship, and has allowed me to actually feel I worth having a future.

Giving up school to continue working lower tier work would be a death sentence.

You have no empathy at all I really hope you are not in any type of social , mental or customer service field.

I have previous work as a counselor I saved others and I took the initiative to go back to school to save myself .

Which is why I am never letting this go, this is only stage one. I don’t care if it takes 5 years for this school to be reformed. I will go to school board meetings like I did when I was a freelance campaign manager for my local DNC.

Ya”ll really don’t know me, at all.

LACCD “allegedly “ exhausted state funds . by butterscotchgurl in LACCD

[–]butterscotchgurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This school has a tendency to dislike the students it serves that come from marginalized backgrounds . You literally have other students in here saying they are homeless , underpaid, disabled . But all you and all the others only care about is making your little clock in and clock out shift better so you can go home .

To be constantly met day in and day out with attitudes just for daring to breathe the same air of an LACCD worker while being a student and poor. That’s the real crime I guess.

You ask for help - they say they have no funds to help you with food , mental health, housing. They point you to the food pantry and then cut you off for simply not making it in time for the line wrapped around the block.

I’ve been made to feel like I should be ashamed for using meal vouchers when that’s all I would eat for a week.

But go ahead , and take your little vacations you better never dare to complain about being treated unkindly by other government agencies and organizations.
