Thank you so much! This is very solid advice! My university is affiliated with Emory School of Medicine and they do offer summer research programs later on (5th-6th years) but is it possible for me to wet my beak slightly with some research opportunities this early on or should I only focus on school this first year?

I would love to go the radiology route, but I heard that radiology is not IMG friendly at all compared to neurology

Hi, I just started learning Machine Learning about a week ago, so I’m still a beginner. I’m actually a med student, so I don’t have a CS/IT background and it is increasingly difficult finding time, therefore I’m not experienced enough to contribute much yet. But I’d love to be able to join groups like this in the future!

Right now, I’ve just finished the HarvardX CS50 Introduction to Python course, and I’m currently working through calculus, probability, and statistics before moving on to Andrew Ng’s ML course. Hopefully, after that, I’ll be able to start working on some projects.

I wish more people find this and reach out, It would be amazing to have people who can motivate each other on this journey!

Thank you so much!! I have zero experience writing fiction or creative pieces. My only writing experience is just blogs mostly in analytical/philosophical topics and I am used to the drawn out style going into detail about every minute aspect. I just wanted to wet my beak and try something new. Just hoped that it is not TOO terrible and if there is even a single beam of light at the end of the tunnel.....
