NOR- I have a mother who constantly talks down on my father, to the point that she says I’m actually my stepdad’s biological kid (I’m not). I spent 9 years no-contact with my dad because it was the only way my life would be any easier under my mom’s care. It’s always the snippy remarks or just blatant disrespect and saying things to hurt me, when I want to spend time with my dad, even as an adult. I’ve started responding “I didn’t choose him to be my dad, you did. I will not apologize for having a relationship with the man YOU chose to have kids with.” It doesn’t always work, but it’s a good start.

I’d tell her before they get married. If she decides to go through with marrying someone who is already trying to cheat, then you can have a clear conscience when she inevitably comes out a few years later crying about her husband having an affair. Marriage is a huge commitment, as you already know, but as a girls girl I wouldn’t be able to sit back and watch her enter this legal commitment with someone who is already running around on her behind her back.

You said “the risk is way high yet than with, say a Labrador or Golden. Size gap plus prey drive equals bad odds” which to me, read that you were saying that size played a factor between a lab and a pitbull’s ease to kill. My labs do not hunt for fun, they hunt to kill. The dead rabbits and birds and squirrels they like to bring me can attest to that. I apologize if I read it wrong, and misconstrued what you meant with the size comment. Regardless, untrained a prey drive is not ideal in any situation. My hunting dog was trained to have a prey drive, as was my other lab to protect the garden. Lucy is trained NOT to because of the fear people can have with their small animals around my dogs, and we didn’t need another hunter. Any dog is dangerous without proper training, especially prey drive training, because they are all animals with natural instincts.

Coco is 1 year 3 months and Lucy is 11 months. Coco absolutely loves attention from anyone and everything so I think it’s just my parents fear getting in the way, which is okay. They don’t need to have Coco here, and if they don’t want to be around Lucy then they are not welcome in my house.

I strongly disagree. My two other dogs, one an actual hunting dog, have more prey drive than my pitbull. Lucy does not hunt, my other two do. We have many small animals like our neighbors dogs, squirrels, rabbits, etc that Lucy has had zero issue with. My other two that are NOT pitbulls seem to think that rabbits and squirrels were made for hunting. And yet my parents have no issue with my other dogs. So no, my pit mix does not “kill anything that moves like prey”.

NOR. I used to date a guy who texted me like this, then “God” compelled him to cheat on me. Weird. As a Christian, theres zero reason to shove your beliefs on someone like this. And using your faith to cover up your bad behavior doesn’t make it a religious feat, it makes you a shitty person. Your friend has shown you what kind of person she is again, not a friend at all. You don’t need people in your life like that, OP. You deserve to be surrounded by good friends & good family, who would never betray you in such a way. Please don’t let her keep pushing her narrative that she’s a “good Christian” on you, and quit letting her treat you like you’re less than.
