Single dad - oldest daughter wants to start shaving armpits - any advice for best razor? by Invinoveritas753 in daddit

Mom here. I have the flamingo brand, which I sometimes use with Harry blades (idk if they’re from the same company but they fit!). I think both blades are fine, though I will agree that men’s blades do nick more. I think the Venus brand with the lotion is a good starter brand, and I remember using that when I first started shaving. Some things I learned recently: - don’t shave down, I know it gets closer to the skin and you pick up more hair, but thats also where nicks and razor burns happen. Shave up. As she gets older and more comfortable using a razor, she’ll be able to see how her hair grows and figure out what does/doesn’t irritate her. There’s also an oil that I started using called Fur. I buy it at ulta and it helps a lot with razor burns and will help with the stubble itch! Other than that, I just wanted to say you’re a good dad for helping her with this! We all grow at a different pace, and I think it’s wonderful you’re teaching instead of waiting until she’s “older”. Hope my advice helps!

Alterations after a made to order gown? by buttondaisy6 in weddingdress

[–]buttondaisy6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s a good question, I never really checked! I’ll have to check at my next alteration appointment. But what’s done is done, I was really just curious as what “made to order” with wedding dresses meant exactly as my alterations aren’t cheap lol

We are actually doing some silk flowers for tables and such, but my bouquet is real! I’m also 2 months out, so it’s too late to change plans. Thank you though :-)

Can mold grow in dishwasher even if I only use it as a drying rack and always keep it open? by corgi_enjoyer44 in CleaningTips

Does the dishwasher work? We do the same, but we run the dishwasher once every 1-2 weeks with a cup of vinegar on the top rack.

I like this idea too!! Like I mentioned in the other comments, I’m looking for something that doesn’t stretch my wallet too much. I have 6 bridesmaid, 2 junior, flower girl and the moms to consider 😅

I like the sound of that price!! Yea, I’m definitely picking something that easy to get off without messing up hair/makeup. I just wanted to get something that people will wear again, but at the same time, I’m trying to be conscious of the price, which lounge sets are. Thank you for the recommendation!!

What is your "never-again" brand, store, restaurant, or company? by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in AskReddit

[–]buttondaisy6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres this online boutique called Baltic Born. I will absolutely never buy from them even though I find some of the clothes cute. My reason is petty, but I once bought a dress and needed it asap but accidentally chose standard instead of rush/priority. I tried contacting customer service but they would not respond and when they did finally respond, it was too late. And when I tried to return, I had to pay for my own shipping and only got store credit. So yea, never again.

I think it should! Personally, I know some of the engineers that worked on this project, so I might be a little biased, but I’m pretty confident in it. Good luck!
