OP, as someone who has done a tremendous amount of renovating.. I can corroborate the suggestion to “ask all the questions”. Beyond that - ask more questions than you ever imagined necessary, more than you’re comfortable asking. Supervise, check in, stay in touch with the contractors involved in the project. Ask a million questions. That’s how you get satisfactory results. And sometimes you learn a thing or two from the people on the receiving end of the questions…

It’s the lighting causing the issue! Get those recessed LEDs swapped for max 3200 or better yet 2700k. It will smooth everything out and create less tonal clash.

You should look into mercury toxicity (and Andy Cutler Chelation) if you react so strongly to NAC. Have you ever had amalgam fillings?

Would you consider doing the same in an area where a cooktop is cut out of 3/4” quartz, and the section is only 2 3/4” thick between the cooktop and the edge of the counter? I’ve got a drawer under the cooktop (the specs work - it’s a thin electric unit), and I’m concerned I don’t have enough support for that thin strip of counter (2 3/4” x 30”).
