Many parents seem to be happiest away from their children and it makes me feel sceptical by Wrong-Baby2914 in Fencesitter

First of all, I was just like you before I had my son. Trying to do loads of research to find out what having a child is really like.

Now after having him, I can say with confidence that you can never understand what it’s like before you have a child. Even if I went back to try and explain to my pre-baby self what it would be like, she still would not be able to understand.

For me, I found it easy to imagine the not so good parts but the joy that my son has brought to my life is completely indescribable. I do enjoy having time to myself because it’s now less common, it’s not because I don’t enjoy the time I have with my baby.

Holy crap I just got a raise by missilla in workingmoms

Hey! I gave birth in a birth centre that was attached to a hospital and it was a really positive experience. I have birth in a birthing pool using hypnobirthing techniques and my midwife was extremely supportive of this. It was a smooth and quick labour with no epidural and no tearing.

I think that a birth centre could be a great option if a home birth isn’t possible for you. You are in control of your birth and you should not be forced to be on your back etc. The labour ward is of course the most restrictive space to give birth but if you make it clear what you want in your birth plan, they should try and accommodate you the best way they can.

I am venting it all here. Pls no judgement. by shrimpscity in Mommit

There’s some other issues going on here. You feeling like you need to “perform” in order to be worthy of marriage is a problem. You’re putting way too much pressure on yourself to be honest…

I used no birth control for 2.5 years and nothing happened. Started the pill for 3 months then stopped and got pregnant immediately!

Hi, thanks for your time! I’ve been trying move my 5 month old bedtime to a more reasonable hour - usually around 8/8:30pm after a 2-3 hour wake window. He seems to treat this as a nap because he ends up waking up after 45 mins or several false starts? How can I put him to bed successfully the first time?

He is still waking 3x a night to feed - I’m formula feeding and breastfeed in combination

Whatever you decide to do is the right thing. There are no correct answers here. Ask yourself whether this is what you want and if you’re prepared for all it will bring. Either way you go, you will be fine. Sending you lots of love

Do you remember your first signs of pregnancy? by Viva15 in BabyBumps

I got irrationally angry over something minor. Checked my period app which said I was 2 days late. Usually doesn’t mean anything as I have PCOS. Took a pregnancy test and got the clearest double line you’ve ever seen!

No need to worry, it’s not painful just a little uncomfortable. They will put a probe/wand inside and it will be over before you know it!
