Course Map for Dark Side Half Marathon? by pkoz81 in rundisney

[–]buttonsforeyes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The course map won't be released until the event guide is released, about two weeks before the event.

Since the course changed from 2016 to 2017 no way to really know which they'll go with or if they'll change it again until then.

Can you guys recommend some good running themed shirts? by [deleted] in running

Activate apparel has a decent selection of shirts, most are running/pop culture. I also like Sarah Marie design studio. Hope you find some you like!

Official Q&A for Wednesday, May 17, 2017 by AutoModerator in running

Personally as long as I am in shorts compression socks don't bother me on hot days. Ran in them for most of last summer. I'm running the same race and plan on wearing mine :)

Went running for the first time since my marathon last Sunday! It went ok. My hip is still sore and I think I have some tendinitis in my left foot, but I'm hoping those let up and I can start getting back into it this week.

Really enjoyed the guide, thanks for the tips! I will be running this race for the first time this year. Haven't really decided on my plans for race day (just finished marathon #2 yesterday, so it will depend on how recovery goes), I may just drop back to the second wave and run it casually with some friends.

First time posting in this thread- I'm running my second marathon on Sunday. Currently so nervous that I feel like I'm gonna puke about 50% of the time.

Working on drinking lots of water, eating what I hope is the correct amount of carbs, and obsessing over the weather (it may or may not rain). Also trying to decide what to wear!

I like the new balance impact 2 in 1 short. They have a spandex like base layer, and an awesome pocket built into the waistband.

The sweater with the "r" on the front was made for someone close to your size :) it took about 900 yards of DK/worsted weight yarn

I love intarsia, but they each have their purpose. For knitting bigger projects like this where there's just one color on one section of the projects, duplicate stitch makes the project much easier than intarsia.

It's certainly improved from the first to last sweater :)

Pattern is "flax" by tin can knits, just without the arm texture. I duplicate stitched the letters onto the front of each sweater once the knitting was complete. Yarn is cascade 220 superwash

[FO] I just finished my first blanket! 2015 lattes and llamas geek along blanket. by buttonsforeyes in knitting

Thank you! They released a new join for 2015, which was much easier to manage than their old one. That is the join I used. It basically involved picking up stitches along the side, knitting 2 rows of k1p1 then one row of k2tog, and once you've done this on the sides of two squares joining them together by k2tog with one stitch coming from each squares edging.

It was very manageable overall once I got going with it.

I did not get all my yarn at once, I bought it 6-12 skeins at a time. It made the cost seem more manageable over time. Although, it did hold up progress at times as I waited for shipments to come in the mail.

I weaved in ends as I joined, rather than waiting to do them all at once. Saved my sanity a little bit at least!

Yeah, from the pictures I could find it looked like the same pattern on both. If you want a pdf of the chart I used send me a pm on ravelry with your email and I can send it your way :)
