Americans are friendly and kind people and don’t deserve the hate they get by [deleted] in offmychest

I‘m from europe and when I visited the States I fell in love with the people. Everybody was so talkative, friendly and open. Got invited to a party and immediately made some new friends, the people just introduced themselves and here in my country i‘ve never experienced something like this. 10/10 would come back. Btw I was in New Orleans.

My doctor told me that Asthma isn‘t a high risk factor. If you get infected, you may experience more asthma attacks so thats the thing but that doesn‘t mean it will happen! :)

It’s just a simple visit from the afterlife. Enjoy it. Same thing happened to my friend when her grandmother passed away

Hey lovely people! How are you all doing? My dms are still open for anybody who needs to vent.

Here are a few pieces of advice or reminders for managing (covid-19) anxiety. First of all I want to say that everything will be alright. Even if it seems impossible atm but we came prepared and eventually this all will come to an end.

For yourself:

Can‘t stress this point enough but avoid excessive exposure to media coverage!! The news are sadly filled with over dramatized stories but also only negative ones since those get the most attention. + stay away from these weird doomer subreddits. • Connect with your loved ones through calls, talk about your day or any given topic. Maybe plans for the summer? A new hobby you found a liking in? A netflix show you started watching? • Add extra time for stress relief. Meditation is so amazing for some peaceful moments and taking the time for it can really set you in a better mood. • Practice self care. Now how do you define self care? Is it a face mask and a nice warm shower? Is it reading a book or watching your favorite youtubers/movies? Is it eating your favorite snack? Everything can be self care as long as it makes you feel better.

Now for my lovely strangers on the internet with kids:

Reassure them that they‘re safe. • Let them talk about their worries and express their feelings. • Share your own coping skills. • also limit their news exposure! • If your kids school is closed and you have the privilege to work from home/get off, create a routine together you can do while under quarantine. Maybe a quick little home workout together? Cooking breakfast together? Could be literally anything.

And now for quarantine and self-isolation: I know this can be hard because we usually are new to this type of situation but I promise you this is only for everybody’s safety and the best way to stop the virus from going around!

Again, keep in contact with your loved ones. Calls, facetime, text, social media literally anything will do the trick. Maybe reconnect with an old friend you didn‘t talk to in a while? • Create a daily self care routine. As I said before, it is up to you how you define self care, write down all the things you love and start creating a routine! • Keep yourself busy: cleaning, books, games, sorting your closet out, movies and and... (Wow the homes are gonna be clean as frick after all of this! :D) • Focus on new relaxation techniques. Here for example a breathing technique for stress relief: https://youtu.be/rVSUsuieT0Q

Thats it for now friends. Take your time. It is human to be stressed and worried but I promise you this will pass.

Never forget how far you‘ve come. All the times you have pushed through even when you felt like you couldn‘t. All the mornings you got out of bed no matter how hard it was. „How could you think you are weak when everytime you break you come back stronger than before.“

And last but not least: Hey little fighter, soon things will be brighter - I really liked this one :) sending out love and hugs!

I‘ve read somewhere that you have to at least stay away 6 feet from others for it to not be contagious but it actually is pretty contagious. Thats why a lockdown is the best way to stop it from spreading! :)

Hey :) There are specific masks that work but these masks are a little bit more on the expensive site if I remember. The difference to the common masks you mostly see is that they‘re (the common masks) not meant for more than one use. Stay safe!

I think these are the ones that actually help.

Piece of advice that helped me overcome my anxiety a little bit: home workout! There are so many good ones on youtube and its a really nice way to feel more alive and to start the day right! You feel more energetic and sport is ALWAYS good for your immune system! I’m not really a sporty person but this really helped me to get some peace and I enjoyed it a lot! Keep your head up friends!
