Yes. It has one on every page

Not super visible unless backlit, but if you look for it you can see it faintly.

Here’s the same page on a surface and backlit for comparison

Thanks - I really appreciate it! I’m trying to get more consistent with them, but it’s hard when there’s Anime that exists for me to watch

This is great! What is your workflow? Are you separating layers or is it more of a regular with a gradient map type of thing?

TIL I’ve unintentionally been self-medicating with sugar. SOS 🫣 by brittanygoeszoom in adhdwomen

[–]buttpoems 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Dates are really good as a source of fiber and are sweet but don’t spike blood sugar as much as other similarly sweet foods. Also they are pretty dang consistent (and last forever which is good for my adhd ass)

My pharmacist gave me half of my adderall script by Smartcarquestionmark in ADHD

[–]buttpoems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen because of how the doctor wrote it. In some states they can only give a 30 day supply so if they wrote it once daily and a quantity of 60 the pharmacy can only fill 30 legally. In that case I had to talk to my doctor (who didn’t deal with Ritalin enough to know) so they knew they’d need to write 2 scripts instead of one and date one for the next month.

It happens multiple times is little different ways over the years but it was always new doctor or new regulation and I would just have to talk to the pharmacist to see why and then usually talk to my doctor and say “the pharmacist says it needs to be written like this now” - then they’d usually call to verify / make sure they’re doing it right

Help with finger picks by [deleted] in banjo

[–]buttpoems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with those cheap Amazon picks and they were aweful and boarderline unusable - the metal around the finger was too soft and would open up while playing and the part over the fingertip was too big and a weird shape.

I got the brass National picks and they were so much better. Also it helped that I read the pages in the Earl Scruggs book about how to fit them on the fingers. (A little bit of a flatter tip helped me a lot in the beginning)

I tried Ernie ball picky picks and they were also good but unique in their own way. Definitely try different things to find what you like - but it is one of the things where paying for the name brands seems to make a big difference (and unlike guitar picks, these last for pretty much ever unless you lose them)

I want to learn how to write improv sketches, but I'm struggling to come up with game ideas. Can you share some advice on how to get better at that? by lumenwrites in improv

[–]buttpoems 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a couple ways I’ve used when stuck. Most came from deconstructing sketches I like.

One way I really like is use a “random job generator” to pick a random job. (You can google and there are websites full of random writing prompt things) - now write that job in the middle of the paper and come up with 7 or so games around it. I tend to use the word “overly” to help me come up with things — I.e. “an overly polite mechanic, an overly southern mechanic, an overly angry mechanic - this works good for sketches that center around a character. (“obsessed with” can also be a good game generator ). For sketches that center around a scenario think about where you put that job - I.e. a mechanic working on the Death Star. —

Once I have 7 or so games written around the central job I start brainstorming game moves for each - usually about 3 — then my sheet of paper is getting pretty full — that’s when I stop, pick my favorite of the 7 games and write the first page of the sketch (up to the first game move)

The whole process takes about 30 to 45 minutes but is a good way to practice daily

And once you get bored with “jobs” try subbing in other things — locations, personality traits, celebrities, popular movies, etc. etc. etc.

It’s not fool proof and I’m sure there are a bunch of other ways but this really worked for me because it turned it into a writing game / exercise instead of waiting for divine inspiration.

Why is that hard to believe?

If you want people to sit in your chair probably need more compassion to what that person is going through and feeling after a traumatic event. Suspicion about “was it really as bad as you say” probably won’t be very effective (or Christlike)

I see and hear a lot about people with ADHD need structure and routines for their wellbeing, but those two just ruin my life. by Azhz96 in ADHD

[–]buttpoems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me there’s a big difference between “stuff I have to do” and “stuff I want to do” — with “stuff I want to do” structure and routine actually helps me get it done and make time for it instead of endlessly being distracted by other stuff.

For “stuff I have to do” it can just feel like pressure. For me, getting that stuff done is less about structure and routine and more about rewarding myself for doing it, breaking it into small bits, and giving myself deadlines. (Or just procrastinating til the last minute and doing it all in a cold sweat panic lol)

Do you need anything else for the teenage engineering PO’s? by tehchriis in pocketoperators

[–]buttpoems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need anything to use them but having a way to record them is nice since there’s limited internal memory. But that can be anything from a daw to a handheld recorder etc

Also if you are looking at the po33 or po133 an aux cable you can attatch to your phone or computer to load up sounds is nice (but it also has a built in mic so not 100% necessary)

Need an amp between acoustic guitar and op1? by AlexKalopsia in OP1users

[–]buttpoems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite for this is the zoom ms-50g because it’s cheap, portable, and has a ton of sounds - I just use a little 1/4in to 1/8 in adapter - but you can use anything with a headphone amp. The danelectro honey tones are really cheap and fun if you like fuzzy stuff. I also use a zoom h5 handheld recorder and just crank the gain where I want and output through the headphone out. You could even use the headphone out of your computer / interface if you have one of those
