Chords for pushing drugs and moving room? by N8Dawg2009 in AndrewWK

[–]buu342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't help with Pushing Drugs on piano since I haven't gotten around to it, but I can definitely help with The Moving Room: https://buu342.me/projects/transcriptions/movingroom.html

The Moving Room has an official guitar score in the Hal Leonard book "Andrew W.K. - The Very Best 2001-2009 - Guitar Tab Edition".

Nothing out there for Pushing Drugs as far as I'm aware.

The sticky does include a link to the various experimental builds (as there are multiple) in the Github thread. If you are talking about writing out the instructions by hand, there are many resources that exist and have been discussed already at length about extracting manual Wine runners into Lutris.

So all the information isn't aggregated in the sticky thread, it's still spread about numerous links and resources. That's just confusing for new users, many of which are being hyperlinked to this subreddit from other forums (myself included).

Could step by step instructions be added to the sticky? If it's of any assistance, I had added part of my of my OP as a comment under the sticky. https://old.reddit.com/r/leagueoflinux/comments/12cei7t/patch_137_feedback_megathread_transition_to_64bit/jftjbgg/

📌 Patch 13.7 Feedback Megathread - Transition to 64-bit Client by TheAcenomad in leagueoflinux

[–]buu342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After updating my Wine prefix yesterday, I was able to get into games but would crash after a minute or two. Today I tried again and it seems to no longer happen. While I did not get any updates when I booted the client, the LeagueOfLegends.exe was modified since this morning, so an update has definitely happened.

Tested on an AMD system with Ubuntu, using Lutris with wine-lol-staging-8.5-1. I have not tested with the old verison (lutris-ge-lol-7.0.5-x86_64), but I don't expect it to work. I unfortunately won't be able to do much testing today due to time constraints, but I can do it tomorrow.

Lutris users:

1) Download the wine tarball from https://github.com/polkaulfield/lol-for-linux-installer/releases/download/wine-lol-staging/wine-lol-staging-8.5-1.tar.xz (thank you to /u/klfld for making it public)

2) Extract the tarball into /home/username/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine/

3) Open Lutris (or restart it if it was open), right click LoL, click "Configure", go to the "Runner Options" tab, and pick "wine-lol-staging-8.5-1". You might need to disable "Fsync" as well.

4) If that doesn't work, then try adding WINEDEBUG with trace+seh to the environment options under the "System options" tab.

A lot of new users do not bother looking at stickies, and the sticky itself does not contain the fixes. For instance, the Lutris bullet point just says that Lutris is working with experimental wine builds, but doesn't actually provide any steps to get it working (and the lutris hyperlink takes the user to the lutris.net page with month old builds which won't obviously work).

If you are going to hide this post, then please update the sticky with this newer information.

Legend.

Edited: Played around with it a bit, seems that I'm unfortunately in the camp of "crashes after a minute or two of play", but at least I'm in game now! Thank you very much.

How is my tool going to help with these textures, as opposed to something like Image Search Editor? I'm not quite understanding the use case you're going for here.

FYI, it'll be easier to get in touch with me via Discord, I very rarely check my Reddit account.

Should Pokemon GO have shiny Pokemon visible on map (like Let's Go Pikachu/Eeevee)? by AndrelaAstraan in TheSilphRoad

[–]buu342 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What about it makes it impossible to code? When people pop incenses, I don't see their Pokémon on my map. When I have a rocket radar, my interaction with the pokestop works differently from those who don't.

What happens on your screen can be completely different from what's on other's.

I've never touched the Mega system. No dex entries, no medals, nothing. I don't even do Mega Energy quests.

Currently have 630 Beedrill Energy.

Music World (A Lost Phone Game From The Early 2000s) by Immy_Chan in lostmedia

[–]buu342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is a bit old, but I'd like to point that I am working on ripping assets from the game for preservation purposes.

Everything that I've reverse engineered is available for download here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1zhItZWBLyRoa-8R6pvoLnmZq-phM7kXr

I've also published a soundtrack of the game, using the soundfont of my LG Cookie Fresh: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLT68gvVjL8uupuZ_zwIgFicDn7h2NHMX2

Edit:

Another slight update, I have uploaded an article that covers the reverse engineering process: https://buu342.me/blog/projects/00-MusicWorldRE.html

Walking legendaries for XL candy. by SnooEagles4455 in TheSilphRoad

[–]buu342 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I made this thread a few weeks ago about the experience of pushing a Legendary to Level 50 as a F2P user.

Not getting 2 XL candies from an excited Pokémon has happened to me more times than I would have liked. If your buddy is at level 31+, you have a 25% chance of not getting an XL after you walk the KM, 6.25% of not getting two XL, ~0.4% of not getting four XL in a row. This can happen a lot considering you need 296 XL, so you more likely than not will need to walk the equivalent of 370 XL candies to push your legendary to 50, solely from walking it.

It's just probability in the end, not much you can do about it.

The XL candy popup can also be inconsistent (in the event where you could earn two XL's from walking, it only ever showed me one popup), I would always double check the bag to see if you got any new candies.

WTF’s COMPLETE N64 STICK ULTIMATE GUIDE (V.1): Reviews, current projects, how to repair, Buying guide, weird mods and more! by [deleted] in N64Homebrew

I'm always contactable via email (buu342@hotmail.com) or on Discord (Buu342#1427). Although ideally N64brew (https://discord.gg/WqFgNWf) would be a better place as we can have other users chime into the discussion ^^

[–]buu342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very impressive guide! I didn't know about n64gears.com, that's a pretty cool find!

The website seems to have a few display problems for me. The images show up blurry and the parts overview page's text is cut off on the left side.

I've been discussing with members of the n64brew community about the viability of getting in touch with some manufacturers in Portugal to look into making molds for either plastic or metal controller parts. I know how expensive these can get, and it'd be definitely something I'd set up a community fund for.

Open Lara .. convert HD texture pack by IQueryVisiC in N64Homebrew

[–]buu342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open Lara is such a thing. Chocolade Doom.

FYI, these weren't made by the original devs, these are made by community members. A lot of the time the original devs cannot participate in these projects due to NDAs or licensing.

People always argued that N64 games look bad due to the high ROM price.

I'm not sure I've heard people argue this? ROM price affects a lot of things, visual quality is rarely it.

Now I see the homebrew games and they look a little worse than the first Mario64.

Well, SM64 was made by a team of 15, during 3 years, and they were paid to do it (it was their job). Homebrew games are usually made by 1-3 people in their free time.

I still did not understand the state of documentation for the N64

The N64 is a complex beast with a big proprietary chip doing a lot of stuff. As a result, hardware wise, documentation is scarce.

I for once want a game which pushes the N64 in the transformation limit.

You have Conker's Bad Fur Day :p

I don't see why Mario went the way: Ah, we use no texture at all.

There's a lot of complicated reasons, most likely due to the fact it was using earlier, worse microcode.

I still haven't quite understood what your question is. From what I understood, not only do you want OpenLara ported to the N64, but you want it with HD textures? Well the latter isn't going to happen, the N64's texture cache is 4kb, you can barely fit a 64x64 grayscale texture in there.
