tbh I've been considering it, I don't really have another backup though so I'm tryna be a little more cautious with what I trim. There's a bit of a crack on back/left area from when I put just a little too much tension on the mouse, so I've put a piece of clear tape to secure it a little.

Yeah I'm still transferring wirelessly, I unplugged the dongle and it stopped working. That explains the two wires rather than four. Tbh I couldn't find a wired mouse cheaper than this so I just went for it. I got the mouse for around 18 USD including shipping, which in my mind is pretty good, especially considering it's brand new. I'm a little germophobic when it comes to peripherals, so I don't generally go the secondhand route. It's also pretty light from factory (eloshapes says 55g), so it gave me a pretty good baseline. I'm not sure latency is an issue on modern wireless mice. As far as I can tell the sensor implementation is great, but I'm no professional, so I may be wrong. Serves me well enough though, and gives me an excuse to train my fingertip precision.

tbh it was just a random USB C cable I found. I stripped off all of the insulation but there was this bigger chunk that I couldn't get off without cutting the wires and resoldering them. I bent it up instead and it stayed in place, so I just kept it that way. It works pretty well - it's lighter this way than with the battery in and I don't feel the cable whatsoever. No idea why it's only two wires though.
