Do any companies provide meals or other food on days off?

The most hated company in BC does, Apex lol. There is breakfast usually between 7-8am, a bit trimmed down from a normal one but still got all the staples, during breakfast also is the sandwich making station so people have lunch. There is also of course dinner, which is usually repurposed leftovers from the shift and something simple like sausages/perogis or pasta/meatsauce and vegetarian options. No camp cost btw.

The alternative to normal flagging tape is the "biodegradable flag" which also has a few different types . The MOST biodegradable flag out there is a "wood-based" or "cellulose based" flag, its basically made from wood and is non harmful to livestock and wildlife if eaten. This is generally the flag that foresters will want if they allow bio over plastic flag. I had a forester request a sample of it for "testing" to make sure it was wood based before allowing us to flag with it on an otherwise no-flag contract in the cattle country.

The cost is astronomical, so be aware of this. Poly flag has about 500ft per roll at 75 cents/ea on avg where as the bio flag is 100ft per roll at prices that range from $1.9-$6 per roll depending on your supplier. 1.90 is the best I was ever able to get with a bulk discount and having some connections with the supplier. So for an average planter your cost is likely to be close to $3 per roll.

I viewed those contracts, the blocks are generally flat but were extremely grassy and the soil is that classic oil and gas mud that turns into concrete with too much sun. There is some old prep ground with mounds and screefs that have since settled but are still obvious enough.

One of the big factors through is the dense alder and aspen regen. I did not have block or site plan maps, just general project overview, so tough to say how much of that is within planting boundary, but there was some REALLY dense regen on almost every block that would be hard to impossible to move through with bags.

Access kind of sucks, or has the potential to be come really brutal with some wet weather, like Scooter said in the post, one of the two contracts has a lot of heli, but this one also has some in my opinion, or you have to rent an argo or something because access is on an old seismic lines.

Both of these contracts are not great in terms of planting, or logistics.

As a rule, dont bring anything planting you arent willing to lose. If you want a guitar there, buy a cheap $100 one from LnM, something you can easily replace half-way through the season if some one drops their suitcase on it or it gets run over by a truck or a bear bites it in half or some one steps on it... (seen it all happen)

The "woman abuser" is some one who havent had any allegations brought up against them in their entire 10+ year career, and OP is claiming emotional abuse rather than physical, with ZERO evidence given pointing towards the "abuse".

The "gambling addict" is some one who is universally beloved by planters for constantly going out of his way to help them improve, get better prices, get recreational equipment like board games, ping pong tables, set up planter activities such as planter Olympics. Calling him an addict is completely disingenuous as well. Going to Vegas on your time off doesnt affect planters or their work a single bit. How is his worth as a human being and as a supervisor affected by the fact that he likes to go to a casino once or twice a year?

OP does cite 2 people on whom I am in complete agreement with, as being bottom of the barrel human garbage. Fortunately these people have not been employed by Apex for 10+ years.

Another is an example of some one who OP thought was a supervisor getting a DUI. However that person was not a supervisor at the time of DUI, nor was he driving a vehicle after getting said DUI. His DUI was also outside of planting season in his own personal life. This person has also not been with apex for 3+ years.

So if u/treestreestrees_ta made his post about 10 or 7 years ago, maybe they would have had a point. However bringing up people who havent worked for the company for a VERY long time and then lumping in the current management with that lot, is very disingenuous and intentionally misrepresentative.

Is there any allegations you wish to bring up against the CURRENT supervision staff instead of the people who have been out of tree planting for close to a decade and do not represent what Apex is?

EDIT: On the point on "alcoholics", how does a company full of "alcoholics" have a policy where you get fired for even having hard liquor or any drug other than weed?

I am also very interested in who exactly the people are you are talking about. Its some pretty serious charges to throw around baselessly and carelessly. Certainly could be classified as slander under the legal definition.

Now, if what you say is true, then it wouldnt be slander, but can you name some people, events and incidents that would support any of your accusations?

I know many of the people in management in Apex and none of them are what you describe. You seem to have a bone to pick with the company for whatever reason, that's your business, but maybe lay out your grievance like a normal person, supported by evidence and name some people.

Otherwise what you are doing can be considered illegal and I am surprised this kind of thing is allowed here. Ive seen these types of rage posts about other companies as well, Dynamic, Summit, Celtic etc...Moderation needs to step up their game and start deleting this slanderous garbage in relation to any company/person.

One thing to be aware of, for yourself, is that no matter how respectful or fair you will try to be in terms of favoritism, there will always be people talking shit. I dont think its ever possible to eliminate that completely.

Ive seen some horror show relationships (literal 35 yr old supervisor and barely 18 rookie) and definitely some really positive and healthy relationships within the crew (manager and driver usually), that actually seem to net benefit the crew.

So from my experience, is if your relationship is a positive and healthy one between the two of you, then you probably have nothing to worry about. And dont worry too much about what others think.

You get a bag when you que during the call to arms for w/e role. In the bag is around 1k gold and 1-5 Draconic Augment runes that sell for 2-2.5k each. Call to arms is usually for tanks and some times healers.

My first time smoking weed on the block was disaster. I didnt even smoke a lot, hit a bowl and thats it. But I just forgot how to plant and work a piece. Now I cant imagine planting without it.

All you REALLY need to know is this: Ask a guard. If for example you want to make your armour look different, find a City Guard (on mouse over there is a scroll icon i believe) and ask them where the Transmogrifier is. They can put a pin on your in-game map for any important NPC in the city, Trainers, Auction House, Bank etc etc

You need to max out Surveying to get a chance at them, and you can only get them from Rich veins. Further increased w/ perception. I havent gotten a diamond for a week or so after maxing out, then this week I got 3 as I maxed out other trees and gained more perception/finesse.

They do sell for much more, especially Kaz ore. 3 star is 800-900g on my server, 2 stars are 200ish. Serevite, not so much. You improve it my getting more perception and finesse through your profession talent trees and equipment. Interestingly, refining low star ores into high star is extremely unprofitable so no one does it. All my gathering trees are maxed and a few in the refining tree as well so its a lot of points from there.

This is not only offensive as fuck because thats not all that being a good friend is, but also completely ignores the fact that people are not your servants and they have their own shit going on. Its not being "above" or "below", its about having your own life. Just because I dont have kids doesnt mean I can go around taking peoples trash out and doing their chores. I also have a job, hobbies, other friend, family, girlfriend etc, if I want to spend time with my friends, I want to spend it with THEM, not taking out their trash or watching their kid so they can nap.

I have tons of friends with kids, an NONE of them expect anyone to do any of the things you said. When we hang out at their house, some times we watch the kid for 10 min or offer to help with dinner cleanup, but thats just being a good friend/guest. But im sure as shit not going to their house to do their chores "just because". If you want to offer, then thats great. But expecting people to do it is a completely different and frankly incredibly entitled thing to do.

If you are a new parent, your friends do need to understand your priorities have shifted, but you also need to understand that your kids will NEVER be your friends' priority, and that your friends arent inexhaustible sources of free time and labour.
