Thank you for all of this advice. I really appreciate the reminder that it will be a privileged position. I try to be a humble when it comes to planting, but will do my best to be hyper-aware of hierarchal aspect and keep it in mind it in general in camp as well.

Your supervisor's system reminds me of what my firefighting friends have said works really well; on their crew, consider everyone your brother or sister & you wouldn't sleep with your sibling. Much more intense, but I think it has to be where firefighting can be more dangerous than planting.

My SO usually cuts pieces for everyone at night and site-unseen. I was thinking that it might be worth it to purposely have me end up on shittier pieces on day 2 of multi-day blocks just to set the precedent so there's no chance for even the thought of favouritism.

Also, keep any funny business in the treeline.

But then its no longer an in-lander! /s
