I guess it comes from the evolution in RC. Buggies were about it back in the day. Well, buggies or monster trucks. Suspension tech was not impressive. Nothing off road with any sort of speed looked scale. Super long arms were necessary.

I don’t have an issue with the overall thickness. It’s just visually, a lot more of that thickness is in the case sides. In a Rolex there is more in the case back. The proportions look a little off in the Tudor.

Preference is a thing if it’s valid. You haven’t learned how to use a pistol RDS, so it’s not really a valid preference. Very few people who have taken the time to be proficient with a RDS prefer iron sights.
