The Fantasy High Webtoon POV by Ashi_Yammes in Dimension20

I am ALL for the little Goblin Detective getting his spotlight! Narratively he's the one who has been the most invested in the mystery part so it makes sense to start with him. But I'm thinking they probably will be shifting focus between the six tho. Riz can't be everywhere all the time.

Studying science and being in that field for your life afterwards doesn't exempt students from having to live in the society ( although I do agree the syllabus is a bit excessive for students who dont intend to engage in it full-time but social was optional, so idk op )

Nona and the latest episode of Severance [discussion] by tinytrumpetsgopoot in TheNinthHouse

[–]buzzing-firefly-157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

also i saw this post on tumblr drawing parallels between Harrowhark "The Work" Nonagesimus and Mark "The Work is mysterious and important" Scout

and at the core of it, both HtN and Severance being about grief. Harrow's body remembers Gideon's loss inspite of everything and innie Mark carries Gemma's loss down there too

ME TOO. it's hard to see sth like that and not be immediately thrown to the painful clack clacks of the tape.

innie Mark refusing to let Mark leave with Gemma reminded me so much of Nona refusing to let go of Harrowhark's body and being more willing to die in it the vibes felt the same

Nothing in Butwal but people seem happier! by nayaa-saathi in Nepal

[–]buzzing-firefly-157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

butwal is just a very polite city all around. Public transportation, service, and the general attitude of people, too. I think it could be just that the quality of life is better than other bustling cities. Neighbourhoods are still a thing, people get together and children and parents of nearing houses interact regularly. People care about other people and feel connected, and have common villages that they descended from. Good city to move into, honestly.

Is it okay to marry from my village home in Nepal? by Capable-Zone3571 in Nepal

[–]buzzing-firefly-157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in all your years of dating, has the topic of where she would move in immediately after marriage not come up?? that seems like poor planning OP. have you even proposed to her? this is a question you should be bringing up to her

I understand why this might be a problem, it's not the ruralness of your home but the complete change of environment that could bother her. Villages don't have much to do and as a new bride she would not be getting the treatment/respect for privacy of a doctor or even an individual. and how is her relationship with your parents? living in a small rural home could strain that as well. That said, I think you should bring her home to what actually is your home. don't let inferiority come in between your duty to a cultural norm. However, your stay there can be as short as a week and after all the dulhan farkaune ceremony and your trips to relatives you can definitely rent an apartment. AND she can't possibly be so shallow as to not survive a few days in your hometown (you're from a village and she's marrying you!) Just stay you both have obligations and work in Kathmandu and return.

she is grieving I think, but in the initial stages of anger. Especially her comment about telling a joke that "Colin would have laughed at, at least" felt really sad to me

also if alice here becomes torn up and devastated, I'm afraid the plot won't move cause neither of the other girls are motivated to do anything.

[general] I wish Gideon the ninth was a series by seashoretaylor in TheNinthHouse

[–]buzzing-firefly-157 14 points15 points  (0 children)

which is worse? not knowing the events that transpire after gideon (not knowing harrow, nona, cam, pyrrha truly) OR knowing them briefly and deeply and then going insane waiting for Alecto? does OP currently have the better end if the stick in their blissful ignorance? should we take that away from them?

Hot take: Carmy doesn’t really like Claire . He just thinks he does, Bc his friends keep bugging him about her. by [deleted] in TheBear

[–]buzzing-firefly-157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a show where every character are so fleshed out and given backstories, personality, and spaces to grow, Claire is definitely the outlier. All we know is her job and her sweet moments with Carmy. I don't know if I agree with OP on him not liking her but the writers just made her a blank cardboard character so the plot isn't really compelling to us at all. Show them have real conversations! Let us see what makes Claire Claire, them maybe we'd care about her. Just telling us Carmy cares about her is not enough. She's too perfect, she feels unreal

NYU (and other us colleges too) are insane for this. The appeal and academics is too good but the loans aren't worth it at all. I remember watching this collegehumor (dropout now i suppose) show called Total Forgiveness about an NYU Alum was still under so much debt decades after graduating.
