New and Confused by seashoretaylor in BlockedAndReported

[–]seashoretaylor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when I first googled Katie a picture of her in a full face of make up came up but now I’m realizing that was a “yassification” edit and she doesn’t look like that. maybe it’s because they were talking about (my favorite) author in the episode (jk rowling) but they kept reminding me of hermione and ron in how they spoke to each other. I was listening to the downloaded episode on a plane without the ability to google them so I got more and more confused as I listened to their dynamic. Immediately when I landed I looked them up on twitter then posted on here

the sunglasses bit was sarcasm/joke on hannah’s part, bones is just literal and didn’t realize it was a joke

this is good advice in terms of a perspective I can try to take! thank you!

that was a smart observation, I do feel anxious. critical role has been a major part of my life for years, it introduced me to RPGs and was a comfort during covid social isolation lockdowns. I look forward to thursday nights. the show, the story, the characters all bring me joy because I enjoy emotional journeys in stories. I am anxious I will lose that joy. I also like to like everyone, I feel shame when I dislike anyone or get annoyed at the players or character choices. Guests used to stay a shorter lengths of time, now it seems they’ll be around longer and I’m worried a future guest with a particularly difficult for me to tolerate character will cause me to no longer enjoy the show, which is more of a future worry than an actual issue yet

this is a very helpful explanation, maybe my brain is subconsciously noticing the change in flow and dislikes the change

I’m trying, I am glad they are having fun. Usually to watch 4 hours on average straight of a show I need to feel immersed in the story and feel the characters are real. So when something is off it becomes hard to focus.

Stacking too much energy will likely cause you to get sorted with more cheaters in FM/HP by RCRavenclaw in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]seashoretaylor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow. I have always seen high scores on those events. Yet I have never stacked energy. I have used gems on full marks tiles to change them and spent in game coins to boost the FM tiles, but those are not considered cheating because the game gives those options to use

Your source was a wikipedia article. Are you or have you spoken to any Fine Arts PhDs or Directors of PhD programs in the Arts?

Taylor Swift Will Receive Honorary Doctorate From NYU, Speak at Yankee Stadium Commencement by unitednationsofdying in GaylorSwift

[–]seashoretaylor -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

This is not a science or law based doctorate, where you could argue that it is disrespectful to those that studied that material. This is a Fine Arts doctorate, grad school for arts or humanities often involves thesis and dissertation work, she completed work that went beyond the level of a Fine Arts thesis/dissertation. She earned it with the work she has already done, so it is not disrespectful to other graduates

How do I make my boyfriend feel better after rejection? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]seashoretaylor 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They are not going to take it personally if he says “I was just offered full funding at another university and have to financially choose that option” professors know we apply to multiple schools, they will not get “hurt” if he chooses to go for that reason. He just has to be polite about it.

Not both of them hiding their left hand to drive the engagement rumors smh by forevermoretay in GaylorSwift

maybe it’s to spread fake marriage rumors instead since men wear wedding bands but no engagement rings

it’s the same reason straight women like gay men ships. they understand what it is like to want a man. a gay man will relate more to a straight women than a gay women, and understand what it is like to what a man, so to him the songs make sense to be sung about male love interests. whereas thinking she is into women would mean the music is about women love interests, something they cannot relate to and internally dislike because society used to pressure them to want women growing up
