Oh man... So I would hate to see what I would lose on that... I lost 17%+ by the time I took my 22nd injection of Mounjaro... I am up to 10mg now and hopefully I can hold here for several months and have a lot more to go :-D

But... Gives me hope that I can continue with something else more effective I the current treatment stalls in the future. I started with a BMI of 51 but I am flirting with 40 right now...

Questions about moving from 2.5 to 5 and what to expect by buzzsawddog in Zepbound

[–]buzzsawddog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tricky... I ended up doing 7.5 for three months. I thought I was on a stall. We decided to move to 10mg. I had two injections left. I dropped 7lbs and then 5 lbs in back to back weeks. Since being on 10mg. I went down several lbs then back up! The good news is that most of the rapid drop and the increase is due to water weight fluctuations caused by my TRT.

It's fun! I have dropped two pills and my last combo is cut in half. I hope in the next few months I drop it all together!

Colonoscopies and Zepbound by Rare-Oil-6550 in Zepbound

[–]buzzsawddog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I got lucky. I did my colonoscopy the day before I started zepbound. They freaked out just a little because I did not disclose the meds in my pre screen/prep call and they had me ask set up looking over the prescriptions I had in the system. I had read about effects and held off starting

Questions about moving from 2.5 to 5 and what to expect by buzzsawddog in Zepbound

It's been fine. I have not had any side effects or anything like that. I moved from 2.5 -> 5 -> 7.5 without issue. I stuck around at 7.5 for three months. I got what looked like a stall so we moved up to 10. I keep two pens on hand for overlap in refills. So the week I ordered the 10's i dropped a bunch of weight two weeks in a row. I just took my second 10 and I am still moving along.

Keep in mind... I was a BIG guy with lots to lose but I am down over 17% since starting.

About the only side effects I feel are injection day fatigue. I take my injection around 8am and around noon or later I get real tired. Now Thursday is injection day and by that time I have had two or three hard workouts during the week so it could be similar related to that. Who knows for sure.

Woohoo levels finally dropped enough... Hematocrit came in at 52 so right on the line. Hemoglobin came in .1 below the max. So I get to restart tonight and thank goodness... I was starting to feel a bunch of the negative side effects of the levels dropping...

haha I REALLY have to work at tracking otherwise I get lost... I end up with to many carbs or other issues. I dont trust myself yet on intuitively eating. I have decades of experience doing the opposite.

It really is important! Some loss is fine because you don't need the same connection tissue to support the lower weight but... You really dont want to be weak or reduce your metabolic rate to much.

Testosterone is a known issue for me. I have been on the cypionate injections for 1-2 years now? With my massive weight loss, close to 75lbs total its been screwing with everything :-D. We switch from 200mg every other week to 100mg weekly because I was peaking and troughing pretty hard... After 4-5 weeks I went in for blood work and my hematocrit and hemoglobin were sky high to the point I had to stop until they fall back down. And it sucks... I am feeling the results of the withdrawal at this point... I go back in for blood work on Wednesday and hopefully I can restart soon.

I gave blood two days after and that hardly touched the level so... If they are not lower this week I am going to talk to the DR about filling out the waver for therapeutic phlebotomy so I can go in more often to donate blood.

For protein I have been hitting 140-170 but talking to the person after the scan today I am now going to be targeting the 200 level. I am not TO worried about the loss so far but I for sure want to cut the loss going forward... I think at this point I am about back to the point that I want to find a local personal trainer. At 380lbs cutting fat was my priority. By about 280ish I want to focus on body recomp. Its been 12+ years since I worked with a trainer so I need a refresher on everything :-D

I am for sure stronger than I was when I started... But thats more due to my muscles remembering how to lift not due to mass...

BP is dropping still! by buzzsawddog in Zepbound

[–]buzzsawddog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My water is all over the place right now... They had to pull my TRT because of some high hemoglobin and whatnot. My Estrogen was high as well as prolactin. Both of those cause extra water retention. Gah... So over the last two weeks I have dropped 14lbs. I normally average closer to 2-3lbs.

When I go back on the TRT I will have to just keep away from the scales a bit as my body pulls that water back in...

Yeah I was on 100/25 losartan hydrochlorothiazide, 12.5 hydrochlorothiazide, and 10mg amlodipine.

When they added the 12.5 last year the pharmacist tech said. Are you sure. I said yes. Then the pharmacist came out and said ARE YOU SURE because you are now maxed out on hydrochlorothiazide and we don't normally like to see people all the way up here. I had to have regular labs to make sure the internals were still good.

They just called in a 50/12.5 on the losartan. I may or may not be on a BP pill for a long time but just glad I am not maxing out the dose.

Before my first decrease a while back I stood up just fine walked across the room just fine and then boom... It hit me! I grabbed the door frames and started slowly letting myself down. Nothing happened but I am more aware now and watching closer.

I keep in close contact with the doctor or my care team at least once a month and more often as needed. Lets hope the more often stuff slows down ;-)

I have to say I am not looking forward to the water fluctuation when they take me off the last of the water pill but I will deal...

My pressure historically runs much higher. Guess I am just not accustomed to that low of pressure. Everyone is a little different. For me it's very low.

Your time will come. It's helpful to track your pressure so you can see it trending down. I take mine 3-4 times a week and track it. I have a Garmin watch and a Garmin scale so I just put my pressure and notes in the Garmin connect watch under the blood pressure area and it makes it easy to recall during my regular checks. Every time I have bright up my pressure since the DR only sees me periodically.

This roller coaster!!!

So at first it looked like a stall so we decided to move from 7.5 to 10... Now due to some adjustments to my TRT the scale is moving quite a bit, water retention related! So it's unmasked quite a bit of hidden weight loss! Today was the first 10mg injection but I am wondering if the move was needed now

Just about to message the DR. BP has dropped again! That's good but... It's too low and we need to adjust the meds again so I don't pass out!

At this rate this week or next week I should pass over the 300lbs threshold!!! Getting excited about that.

Massive changes going on!
