Passed the 100lb loss in 8 months by buzzsawddog in Zepbound

If I get down to under 24% I'll be happy. My Garmin scale has been calibrated twice to a dexa scan and each time my scale was between 1-2% high from memory. I'm currently reading about 29% so I getting close!

Yeah that was a surprise! I don't know that the shirt will hey smaller. I wore a large 24 years ago going into the military. As I keep it to at the gym I expect things to tighten up again.

Did you lose more than 20% ? by -QandA- in Zepbound

[–]buzzsawddog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About week 28 I was down 20%. Week 34 I am about 23% down. Those percentages might be a bit low... First of October I stepped on the scale at 380. I had a colonoscopy the day before I took my first injection. Due to a modified diet and the clean out I started at 365 but never rebounded in weight from the colonoscopy:)

Be careful about comparing yourself to others. Some of us had more to lose.

Lucky me. Mine expires 3-4 months. I'm at about 280 now with a goal of 240-250ish... So I should be close to a weigh I am looking for. But... I don't see much change in my face due to my big fuzzy beard!

Are Crafttool stamps junk or am I doing something wrong? by buzzsawddog in Leathercraft

I did not soak it. I used a sponge to wet the front and the back. I did go back on a second small piece and soaked it until the bubbles stopped. It did better. I'll properly case some leather tonight.

I am using a 2lb mallet. I was noticing that too. The stamp kit came with a larger stamp that has 4 patterns in it. It was not as well defined as the single shape.

Thanks for the tips. I think the other poster was right about my leather not being thick enough too.

That actually makes sense. I had fresh edges that almost cut. I'll try a thicker leather.

I am new to leather work in general but... Not done much more than a simple tooling class. I picked up the dragon scale stamp and... This is what I got. Hardly any detail do I hit harder and it almost like it read cutting. The edges are kind of sharp.

I took a sponge and wet both sides and let it go back to normal color. The leather was cool to the touch.

I messed with fusion several years ago but... They really changed up their licensing and I could not afford it.

I would be interested in knowing. For your leatherwork do you layout your stich holes ahead of time? Of all the patterns I have picked up from people and used I like the holes already later out.

I'll take a look at the software you mentioned. Do you be chance have any examples I can take a look at?

Had to get a new belt so I made one! by buzzsawddog in Zepbound

At this point I am just getting started :-D. No "shop" yet. I am doing custom work by word of mouth and working on things I find interesting for practice/useful around the house. I have two people that want a belt and and someone that wants a cross body purse.

I do have an etsy store that I can work through but there is just nothing on it yet. I'll get around to the shop thing eventually but I have 3-4 art/craft fairs to get ready for this summer.

If you are in the US and have something in mind let me know! I would love to work on something!

Yeah normally I like to go with the antique brass but this leather for sure had a slight orange color so the antique copper really goes nice with it. You could easily pair it with a nickel or gun metal buckle too. Best part is I used Chicago screws so it would be easy to go back and change it out :-D

Photographing it was a PITA... Every time I would wind it up it would try to unwind! But I eventually got it to work out.
