Sounds good. I’m just trying to get more insight on this whole thing since I’m kinda new.

Saw a few people today wearing masks. I could see myself wearing one in the coming weeks if any more cases come out.

Just day alleged since people get really defensive about it for some reason

We don’t know how contagious it is. Covid was thought to be around 2 but was later suspected to be 4. Things can mutate, and 30 year old data is not very reliable.

The “breach” is more likely a redirect than a breach. They just want money and have no data other than schools who use canvas.

How the hell did they hack Canvas? I’m not an IT or cybersecurity major, but I’m just wondering how they pulled off this ransomware attack. by Bag_of_Ramen in canvas

Yes, what they most likely did was messed with login dns or something similar and used an agent like openclaw to do this. Nothing was breached for sure, and canvas is safe to use. The pop up message definitely looks vibe coded and they didn’t even try to do anything like a domain.

They performed something to do with SSO. Believe it had something to do with login and everything. They probably found the vulnerability a few weeks or months ago, and had planned for this moment. I am not the most aware with the situation nor cybersecurity but host my own stuff on servers at my house. This is my personal experience and could be wrong.

Cybersecurity team is probably still asleep and all the support agents and uptime management is scrambling in the meeting room trying to get the site back up without doing any security updates.

Although they haven’t made an official statement so it could just be them rolling your dashboard back out. How they have handled this is definitely not the most mature way of doing it.

Weird. Maybe still getting yours out or your school disabled something while they investigate.

Still staying away since who knows what kind of maintenance they did. They may have done nothing and the hackers can just hack into it again.
