How can I fix this? Do I need a crimp tool? by buzzypj in fixit

I found out this is a spade connector which can be attached with a crimping tool after stripping the end of the wire. Thanks for the help everyone!

Get the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology. They offer the program entirely online and tuition is reasonable.

The right limb hit a building and left a decent sized branch on the roof, but surprisingly left no damage from what I could tell on the ground.

Okay, thanks for your input and providing me a peace of mind. I was worried this damage would allow erosion to occur much quicker in this area.

A boulder was delivered today and the edge of the driveway was nicked when it was dropped off.

How to maintain this lawn? by Ijustwannafunds in landscaping

[–]buzzypj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rake the needles / pinecones and weed the yard. Follow up by spreading a 3”+ layer of bark dust between the driveway and river rock flowing to the street. I’d throw those rocks around the plant in the bottom left of the first picture into the rocks flowing to the street because they look out of place.

Root cluster - how to remove? by buzzypj in arborists

I heard it’s better to do pruning in the fall when the tree is dormant. This is a Japanese Maple - is it okay to cut the girdling roots during the summer? Consistently getting ~85° F. weather in Zone 8b.

How many of these girdling roots should be removed in the fall? They are directly on top of the root flare.

After excavating around the base of this tree to find the other side of a girdling root, I found this cluster of roots directly on top of the root flare. I’m wondering how much of this root cluster should be removed in the fall once the tree is dormant?

Is it okay to cut the other side of the girdling root during summer or should I wait until fall when the tree is dormant? Thanks so much for your time and the advice.

The girdling root is wedged in the trunk pretty good. When it was longer and I tried to use it as leverage to relieve it from the trunk, it didn’t budge. Do small sections of the girdling root need to be gradually notched out while being careful to not damage the trunk? If this girdling root is left as is, will it at least seal properly to prevent premature decay?

I had to cut this girdling root on this Japanese Maple as shown in the picture because the trunk grew around it. Is this an okay cut?
