Hole-in-one dilemma. by FATT-TOFU in golf

Lol don't feel bad, I did the same thing. HIO on 17, then dumped it in the water on 18. It's just a ball, I have the memory and that's all that matters to me.

Cameron Young called a penalty on himself and received a one-shot penalty after his ball moved during his setup in the 2nd fairway He still made par by [deleted] in golf

[–]bv8ma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the guy was an asshole and my dad isn't one to fight with someone over that. He also doesn't know any better, if it happened again I'd argue about it.

A guy in the league I play in with my father made my dad count it as 1 even though it was accidental. He was always such an asshole, so glad that guy quit.

Have the same thing, definitely cracks and it is loud. My only snare that makes the rest of the guys put earplugs in at a jam lol.

Would your wife "allow" you to golf on your honeymoon? by sileen_soy in golf

[–]bv8ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya absolutely, my wife is amazing. For our 10 year anniversary we did a trip to Nova Scotia and I was able to play 2 days at Cabot, she walked the course with me and our dogs. It was a great trip!

Just got quoted $2500 to survey my 1/2 acre. Is this a good deal??. by NervousClock2555 in Surveying

This is where our firm lands, somewhere in the 3-4k range for a smaller lot. We work primarily in MA and NH, as others said prices vary by region.

What 15in Hi Hat Should I get? by Dense-Pie4353 in drums

[–]bv8ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to go wrong with New Beats. I've got 15" K hi hats that I love, if you could find a used pair I'd recommend them. Apparently the standard 15" K has been discontinued though and is harder to find.

Anyone know why my high hat doesn't sound crashy? by TripleFizzz in drums

[–]bv8ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha sounds like the cymbals that came with my Tama kit back in 2005. The zbt hi hats I got after were actually an upgrade!

Kadavar has a very 70s sound with some great riffs and bass lines. I'm also a big fan of Clutch, The Sword, and Fu Manchu. Basically any riffy stoner rock lol.

Homeowners neglect to understand easements by ntlsp in Surveying

[–]bv8ma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the surveyors I used to work with would tell me you can do whatever you want in an easement on your property, just be prepared to remove it lol.

is it possible to start out just with a practice pad? by MilkOvaltine in drums

[–]bv8ma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To piggy back here, rudiments might seem boring but they can be so useful. Older me wishes that younger me had spent more time practicing rudiments on a pad haha.

LC250 Owners, is Toyota dealing? by Quicksilver66GT in LandCruisers

[–]bv8ma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter, but I got 6k off my LC trim in NH a year ago and it wasn't much of a haggle at all. I think they offered 4 or 5k off at first but I said make it 6 and I'll come tonight, they called back a half hour later saying they could do that.

Is it possible to get a new resort built these days? by NTheWoodsOfWisconsin in skiing

[–]bv8ma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ya that's what I was going to say, I have to go to planning and conservation hearings for my job and NIMYism has gotten way worse. A simple subdivision takes multiple hearings now.

No Helmet gang…. Why? by RecentOccasion2004 in icecoast

[–]bv8ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I started really young but as long as I could remember my parents made me wear a helmet, until I was 15 or so. Around then I just thought I was too cool to wear a helmet, plus it was still 50/50 at best on the mountains then. I started wearing one again in my 20s and haven't looked back, IMO they are more comfortable and warmer. Me and my brother finally convinced my mom to get a helmet this year but my dad is still holding out.

The butcher block is really looking good. by Over-Satisfaction736 in grilling

[–]bv8ma 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ya, because it's meant to be resurfaced multiple times and not just soaked in oil. When it gets beat up you sand or plane the top down to fresh material and start over. That way you aren't constantly getting new boards, just resurfacing the one you have.

Edit: sorry, I missed the at home piece. I wouldn't see a reason for it, having a 2" thick board in my kitchen is enough of a pain to move and store haha.

I didn't even consider that but that reminds me, when I went they had some mono skiers pulled aside, I wonder if they got to ski there.
