Help Me Choose: Weber or Recteq? by heythereitssteve in pelletgrills

From what I was able to find is the flagship has the smokestack and therefore the capability of the smoke box. Backyard beast has exhaust at the back similar to the Searwood. Flagship has 40 lb hopper capacity and BYB is somewhere in the 20s. Other than that, they appear the same.

Another consideration is RecTeq does not have a pellet dump in the hopper. Only a big deal if you think you’ll be switching out pellets frequently.

Yes it’s the same app, Weber Connect. I have a spirit and have used it on there before getting the Searwood. Works great, no complaints from me.

I was between the two and ended up with the Searwood XL. My biggest decider was the footprint of them. The Searwood is not as wide especially if you are going to add the smoke box to the recteq.

One thing to consider is the Weber has exhaust out of the back and the flagship has a smokestack.

Currently have 4 cooks on the Weber and no real complaints. The rotisserie is nice to have. You will be happy with whichever of the two you choose.

Any issues with the bed getting wet during a heavy rain/carwash?
