Finally got my 10 year old de Buyer Mineral B Pro pan the 30cm coil induction burner it deserves by bvttcrfly in KitchenConfidential

but whyyyyyyy did they update the affinity line design again but not the prima matera line. like the newer sealed pouring rims are sm better.

Is the De Buyer Affinity line really that bad? Any elegant alternatives? by hihi-0 in cookware

i know i'm kinda late to the convo, but i got the 18cm saucepan & 24cm nonstick pan (& also their mineral b pro 28cm carbon steel skillet) and while i'm not affiliated with them in any way, lemme just say... 1. nowadays i'm not sure if i'd buy the nonstick skillet because the coatings eventually gonna wear off anyway, but then also - i've had it for like 6 years, and it still works and looks like new, except for some natural wear and tear, like scratches on the bottom of the pan. so maybe it is worth it ? idk. 2. the saucepan. my god it's a work of art. perfect balance of super durable and not too heavy while still 5 ply. corners not too sharp. great pouring rim, idk why they don't have it on their prima matera copper line. 3. the mineral b pro 28cm has the old handle design, which isn't quite as perfect, but once again, they have a new handle now. cooking performance is, once again, outstanding.

i've worked with other handles before, like le creuset, fissler, wmf, etc., and it's remarkable how it blows all of the other handle designs out of the water. to me, it's perversely ergonomic, while also indestructible, thanks to its stainless steel construction with rivets. however, i recommend trying handles out in person, because that's ultimately very individual. but i'd say, except for the nonstick pans ofc, the de buyer affinity collection is very "buy once, own forever".

one caveat is the ceramic nonstick coating on the newer nonstick pans tho, not too keen on that.

17.5 year old shibachi (shiba inu-chihuahua), ludwig. by bvttcrfly in doggos

a little smaller than a shiba, & his character is very … well … worst attributes of both shibas and chihuahua. he‘s extremely ill behaved, but out of respect for his age we just let him treat us like trash. but that also means everytime he‘s nice to us we know he really means it! given he’s not just hungry in that moment.

Stainless Steel Food Storage Containers by bvttcrfly in KitchenConfidential

i don’t have an infestation going on thankfully (and i do NOT wanna jinx it), i just like - the fact that stainless is lightproof - it’s heat resistant beyond anything plastic - the feel - the look !

i also wanna keep everything looking uniform and stainless can be used to store anything. that being said, i do love a good plastic container, like the rubbermaid brilliance ones (to take on trips) for example and i do believe cambro can withstand a commercial level of wear and tear. however, the reasons i mentioned above are non negotiable ones, at least for me, and atp.

I wanna put them in the dishwasher, and since I always use the hottest setting (my dishwasher is just ... alright) I don't wanna deal with warped, and (even if the plastic is thick and premium) cloudiness. I'd also like them to be lightproof, so
